fifyI lived in Lincoln for three years....and it is true. Nebraska fans are truly the nicest, most realistic, down to earth fans that you will ever meet. I wish that we had the history and success that they have.
Well apparently someone in the Big 10 thought that NU was relevant. If not, it's great to have actually been relevant at one time. It's like they are all stuck in a time machine back in the mid 90's when they were actually relevant.
I think it's pretty interesting to see y'all's takes. Kindof funny to see some of you say that "Nebraska ain't gonna roll, this ain't the Big 12 North" while some of you are saying "That schedule isn't that tough, quit whining." We all know that Delaney tried to pit Nebraska against all of the "greats" of the Big 10.
That being said, I don't think that there is a game on our schedule next year that we can't win. I also think that there are 4-6 that could be possible pitfalls.
Realistically, this team could be anywhere from 13-0 to 6-6. If they perform like they did in 2010, a 3 loss season with a couple of good wins and close losses seems reasonable.
All of the greats? Must be a lot of "greats" in the league. You realize that every team in that division faces a similar lineup outside of their protected rival? That schedule is just how the big 10 stacks up. No more Kansas or Colorado to play for a guaranteed W. The difference of one team on the schedule might make it a little tougher, but certainly nothing to be complaining about. You've got to take the bad with the good of being in a premier conference. That being said, I think Neb. will match up fairly well with some of the spread offenses of the B10 because they've been designed to compete with Mizzous and Oklahomas of the FBS world. Where they might struggle is going head to head with tOSU, Iowa, or Mich St and eventualy Michigan and probably Minny again.
I just see that with our cross division games, Illinois, Purdue, and Indiana were left off (correct me if I'm wrong). I haven't looked at any other team's schedule, but it looks as if the Big 10 made sure that they got as many marquee matchups as they could in the first 2 years. Which is understandable, they have a new big sell, might as well exlpoit it.
I realize that CU and KU sucked last year, but 4 of the 6 Big 12 North teams have made BCS games since the conference was formed. Only Mizzou (probably the 2nd best team recently) and ISU have not played in one. CU's were in the early 2000's, but KU won the Orange Bowl at the end of 2007.
