They have to pay most of his salary, but they were gonna have to do that anyway. At least they got a few players for him.

What you expect for an aging guy who can't hit past April? At least they are moving forward...

Or they could have let him walk at the end of the season and got nothing. I'd rather get these two guys and see what they can do.

I'd take a bag of baseballs. Anything to start getting some of these AWFUL contracts off the books. Soriano needs to be next, IMO.
 
I thought the Fuku Dome up in Minneapolis collapsed last winter because of snow? Now it's been traded?!? Man, I just don't understand pro sports.

This. Make no mistake, the Cubs were basically just dumping Fukudome and were willing to get anything at all in return vs. letting him walk at the end of the year and getting nothing at all.

This is only the tip of the iceberg though.. Lots more house-cleaing to do. Lots of dead weight on this team.
