Friday weather won't help turnout

It looks like 35 degrees and winds of 20 or so. Man, that is going to keep some Hawk fans home, I'm afraid. I'm thinking you'll be able to pick up tickets for 20 or 30 bucks. Never would have guessed that at the beginning of the year for the Nebraska game under any circumstances.

It will take some really, really loyal Hawk fans to sit through this. Don't know that the weather will help our chances any either.
Just curious, how is Kinnick set and how does the wind affect the play on the field at Kinnick? I'm assuming North-South endzones, but does a stiff wind affect the kicking game and passing game greatly? I know that against PSU a couple of weeks ago, we had wind gusts upward of 50mph, but the way Memorial Stadium has been closed in, it really didn't effect the kicking/passing games as much as one might think.

Still doesn't alter my decision. I will be there, and I'm sure a lot of other Hawk fans will still make the game. Even as bad as a year as we have had, I love being at Kinnick on gameday. Highly doubt we see a very large drop in attendance.

I have to disagree. I expect it to be 40% to 50% Nebraska fans. I will be at the game so I won't be able to troll the boards, which is disappointing, but I really don't expect there to be a good turnout of Iowa fans. Based on what I've seen on these boards, and more importantly the people I've talked to in person, there is a lot of disappointment, anger, frustration, and even resentment among the fanbase. From what I've heard there seem to be a lot of people who genuinely believe that Kirk is comfortable cashing his check, and not as interested in improving the product on the field. I definitely don't buy into that, but I think you'll see more and more of that belief if Davis is kept on, and we continue to see the same production on the field.

Let's just say the Hawks vertical passing game will be rendered ineffective, uh, wait......

If the weather is going to keep you home, I'm pretty sure I don't want to sit by you anyway. Enjoy your couch Nancy

Yes weather that's why...

You really have no idea what a locust infestation looks like. No matter how Iowa was doing or the weather the stands were going to be 30-35% husker fans. My guess you will see 60% husker fan base.

I hope i eat my words but this will be a husker home game.

The referee threw an unsportsmanlike flag on the crowd that day. Someone from the the student section threw an absolute strike of a snowball off the referees head in the middle of the field. I watched it from the minute it left the kids hand, who was about 15 rows up, to the explosion on the top of the ref's head. Impressive

I remember that too. That was a great and surreal game.

Kinnick is gonna be redder than Oklahoma on an electoral map.

The chill won't bother me but I'm very concerned about the winds. That could really mess with the success of the passing game -- definitely inhibit the vertical attempts, not to mention, affect JVB's accuracy!!

Anything but that!

Just curious what will be uglier, the weather or our performance... Should be interesting as both should give the fans a run for their money.
