French to announce Thursday

Bad timing on the not so positive news from our camp...we could all use a boost of good news, thats for sure!

HawkeyeNation could really use some good news. Hopefully in an hour from now we are talking about our in-state, 4 star recruit staying home and becoming a Hawkeye. He is quite the athlete, I just hope we get to see it on Saturday at Kinnick.

Perhaps Iowa could promise him that if he stays for four years, they'll give him DJK's record?

Official...with a fake to the Iowa hat to boot.

Well, consider what Oregon does with it's offensive weapons, and what Iowa does with ours. He probably figured he could get better numbers out there than he would have here, and he wouldn't have been mistaken.

Also, I don't know what kind of person French is, but perhaps he was scared off by the dynamics between DJK and Ferentz?

I will be here to eat crow if he ever sees major minutes at Oregon.

As far as the DJK/KF only if he is a guy that doesn't like to listen to his coach.

Oregon has eight 4* recruits and two of them are from or currently live in IA (French and Ebert). Iowa currently has three 4* recruits and only one of them is from Iowa.

Oregon currently has two TEs on their entire roster and nobody in their recruiting class other than French. Iowa has seven TEs on our roster - only one SR - and already has another 4* TE coming in this class. Derby, Herman & Fiedorowicz would more than likely be ahead of this kid on the charts if he were to come to Iowa.

Oregon's TE (Paulson) caught 21 balls for 370 yards and 4 TDs this year. Iowa's TE (Reisner) caught 39 balls 410 yards and 2 TDs.

The facilities between the two schools don't even compare.

Would we have run him at TE? Or would we have utilized him as a WR?
