Maybe he should have been. What happened to UMass after Coach Cal left? That's right - probation/sanctions. What happened to Memphis after Coach Cal left? Again, probation/sanctions. One can argue that it wasn't him - he was not found guilty of any violations. But one could also argue that he's one step ahead of the violations coming to light.

No argument here...He's as dirty as they come IMO. But I'm pretty sure he will be at Kentucky until he's (about to be) caught and/or leaves for the NBA.

Davis was like two games over .500 in Big Ten play after Roy, Ed and BJ moved on, and I think average B1G finish was 5th or 6th.

SpecialK mentioned aberrations of which there were really only two, 4-14 for 8th place in 89-90 and 5-13 for 9th in 93-94. The only aberration in the other direction was a 2nd place finish in 96-97, but that was with a 12-6 record, so I'll ignore it. Throwing out the two real aberrations from the norm puts Davis 20 games over .500 on the Big 10 and an average finish of 4th.

Why? We should make the NCAA every year when Kentucky can't. I'm agreeing with Special K.

UK missing the NCAA was from an extenuating circumstance.
