Fran's Dilemma; Gesell weak Dee-better ballhandling vs Clemmons Weak Offense better D

Re: Fran's Dilemma; Gesell weak Dee-better ballhandling vs Clemmons Weak Offense bett

Gesell guarded Abrams when he was in and he is 6'2 and 190 lbs...one inch taller than gesell and the same weight. The kid score 3 more points than gesell in 11 more min...had less assists and the same number of turnovers. This was a below average day for mike but he was not consistently getting beat by bigger guards tonight. Bertrand and rice were bigger than mike but they were typically matched with marble, oglesby, white, Uthoff.[/QUOTE]

These guys were also getting beat off the dribble.

The last 10 minutes of the first half for Iowa was not good tape for their defensive work.

That is the problem you picked out gesell defensively and he wasn't the problem. Marble was at times, Uthoff was at times, white and oglesby were less than those other two. But they turned it up later. Gesell is better at both ends than clemmons. It is clearly evident.

I loved to see AC get more time, MG too many turnovers. Another miss FT late with game on the line.

Gunna have to agree with hawkfan33. A preconceived notion is the only way to think Clemmons is better than Gesell at D.

We need both of them. I don't get the black vs. white thing. They're all Hawks to me...wearing the Black and Gold is what matters.
