That is stunning! I read the article twice and still cannot figure this one out. Maybe Fran promised to develop him and help him get set up in the portal toward a power 5 program? We will see stuff like that down the road. Just speculating.
Yeah I remember him. We thought we had a shot landing him till Duke got in the picture. Now Duke wishes they'd let Iowa just have him. Looks like he roams the 3 pt line and isn't all that physical from what little I've seen of him. He hasn't really played much. Penn might be the perfect level of play for him.
But he wouldn't have done well for us either so that's a bullet we dodged. Imagine landing a 5 star kid and beating out Duke for him just for the kid to be a complete bust... Adam Woodbury at least played defense well and played big mins. This Power kid in 2 yrs hasn't played any significant mins yet.

Keep in mind that star ratings at Rivals ad 24/7 are done with people who aren't coaches, aren't players, and aren't really connected to basketball (or whatever sport it happens to be). It's pretty gimmicky and there are tons of 5 stars in every 4 year cycle who never pan out.

Playing time might be an issue
Duke gets Super 5 Star players and ordinary 5 Star Stars might sit for a while until the starters
get a 20 point lead
