Four years of Fran. Four years of improvement.

Mentioned this too in another post and I think you are dead right. Everyone says this team is talented, but who...maybe RDM? Other than that, who has real BIG talent on this roster. Failing to see it. To your point I think we have 1 very talented player and a bunch (7 or 8) of average BIG players. Nobody on this team is consistent from 3 and we don't have any of the bigs that can dominate in the low post.

Iowa isnt as tallented as some wanted to believe but are still underachieving.

Theyve gotten worse, the difference in results against NW is an obvious indicator.

This year wasn't any improvement over last year. Instead of getting better as the season went on we've regressed.

Thats the problem with alot of fans.They are comparing things to what ISU. Hoiberg went about rebuilding his team in a much different and unorthodox fashion that has paid off in spades. I cannot beleive that it didn't blow up in his face,but it worked. The 2 programs are much different though. Our program was in much worse shape. Despite our skid things are looking up in the future if Fran can get more athletes like Dickerson and Hutton. Hopefully Iowa HS produce more top level talent that want to be Hawkeyes. Fran didn't have much to sell his first couple of seasons at iowa. Now games are on ESPN and CBS ..lots of recruiting exposure. It serves no purpose at this time to turn on Fran.. Pray like hell this is a bump in the road and things work out or else we'll have to endure another reboot.

This. And that brings a chance of another wrong fit like Lackluster.

Same record as last year but FAR more competitive with a chance to win Every game but one in the final minute.. This team is improved over last year. The last 6 games have us all doubting, with good reason, but overall the team was better, even if extremely disappointing at the end.

Perception is reality though I gurss

I think we may take a step back next year unless we replace Marbles scoring, driving. Who kniws.?

I would like to think we would be better next year. Year 5 should be full of Fran's recruits that know his system. But most of us are in agreement that our best player is graduating with nobody on the roster capable of replacing his skill set.
Not to mention the fact that we are limping into the NCAA tournament on the bubble. Or near enough to make no difference.
Is that where we thought we would be after 4 years with Fran?

Or a coach like Hoiberg...back to back third round NCAA runs, a conference championship...that don't look too bad.

Or we give Fran a few more years to see if he can build it up even more...
