Former PSU players donating to Sandusky defense

how about support for the VICTIMS?!? WHERE IS THE COMPASSION AND SUPPORT FOR THE VICTIMS?!!!?
to hell with the players, current and former, and to hell with the rest of the sh!tters associated with PSU football!
It's about the kids who were harmed, goddammit!!!:mad::mad::mad:

Guys, why does everything have to be an either/or scenario? Why does supporting the program and current players imply anything to do with ignoring victims, etc? I'm sure if someone at Iowa was indicted for a crime, you wouldnt turn your back on the entire university. Some people need to learn not to paint with such a broad brush.

I think 99% of people would not argue that the kids are the greatest victims in this mess. But if you know and love the university, there is nothing wrong with showing your support as well.

Well as right now, less then 10% of players are "supporting" this. Let's not throw the former players under the bus yet.

If even one player donates cash to Sandusky's defense fund, it's still ugly.

Edit: I have no desire to throw former players under the bus. I just find it astonishing that anyone would support Sandusky's defense fund with cash. Don't you?

To clarify, I personally think it's great that former players are wanting to support PSU doing the right thing, and supporting the honor and integrity of PSU.

On the other hand, donating cash to the defense of Jerry Sandusky...that's just insane.

I'm with you about the idiot donating money to Sandusky, just sickening. Especially when you look into what that guy said, he basically thinks Sandusky is guilty but is deserving of a defense.

I was talking about the players going to the game.

Really, so people can't support the players that had nothing to do with Sandusky or the cover up? You can't support the players that went PSU and didn't know about any of this stuff.

There is a huge difference between showing support for the university or Sandusky as compared to showing support for the the young men that had nothing to do with this and are caught in the middle of it all.

Perhaps.

But anyone sporting a "We Love (child rape-enabling) JoePa!" sign deserves a little private shower time with Sandusky.

We agree. I totally support players going to the game.

Joe has/had an incredible reputation at PSU. I imagine it is almost impossible for some to believe that Joe would not do the right thing. Joe was more than just a coach at PSU...he was an icon. Icons do no wrong or their admirers believe they can do no wrong.

Same goes with the University...in many minds, it is an icon...How could your icon do anything wrong? Many believe that the attacks on PSU and Paterno are media oriented and that the media is out to get Paterno and PSU>

When this all goes to court and all the facts come out about Sandusky and the cover-up, it might bring supporters a little more down to earth?

And then the incredible lawsuits that are going to follow is going to bring all of this home...

Can any of you imagine Kirk Ferentz or his staff doing anything like this? I can't for a second imagine Ferentz would do something like this. How many Iowa fans would be in denial if Ferentz and his staff, the AD, and the University president were accused of this sort of wrongdoing?

Isn't that how PSU supporters feel about Paterno, who is a much bigger icon than Ferentz could or ever will be.

Penn St IS Paterno...
