I'm watching last years Mi vs Mi St. game on Big Ten network. Forcier looks terrible. No wonder Robinson took over this year. I was wondering if Forcier is seating quietly on the bench or did he transfer out of the program?

he initially announced he was leaving, but must have thought that through a little bit. I saw him on the sideline in a recent game.

Do you guys pay attention? He came in and threw very well recently. Was like 9-9 150 yards in a game he won for them after Robinson was knocked out. I agree though... he was overrated and I was happy to think Michigan thought he would be their 4 year starter. LOL

I think Forcier is a tremendous talent. However, he took a pounding all year. After the MSU & Iowa games he was toast.

Forcier received way to many hits early in the year. Remember Clayborn's hit that knocked Forcier out of the game. Well, he was getting hit like that several times a game. I thought he did a remarkable job as a true freshman taking a beating every game.

If I'm a Michigan fan, I'd be concerned about Robinson. Now that conference play has started, will he be able to withstand the constant pounding that he is going to receive? I think MSU's goal early in the game will be to hit Robinson as hard as they can, as often as they can. The yardage Robinson gets early in the game will not concern MSU. Just beat on him every chance you get. Make him so tired and sore that he will not be a factor in the fourth quarter.

By the Ohio State game, Robinson won't be nearly the player he has been the first half of the season.

exactly ColumbusHawk... we were talking about this today at work. We will certainly see the truth this weekend. Michigan State's defense don't lie. We were also laughing about IF Forcier is on the sideline vs Iowa and Robinson gets knocked out of the game... what will his mental state be walking back onto the field with that same defense that rocked him so hard last year and basically ended what little bit of a college career he had?
Very surprised Forcier didn't transfer during the off-season. He is either over confident OR really stupid.

My thoughts exactly. So far, through 5 games, Robinson has carried the ball 98 times. We can round up and say that's 20 carries a game. That's all well and good against the UMasses and Bowling Greens of the world, but if he carries the ball 20 times against Michigan State, us, Ohio State, or even Northwestern he's going to get blown up on at least 4 or 5 tackles a game. It's not so much that every one of those hits will knock him out of the game, it's that the accumulation of hits over the course of the year will lead to deep bruises and bumps that will only get worse as the season wears on. It isn't just the physical impact, though. He'll likely start to get a lot less daring and a lot more tentative later on when those hits start to weigh on him mentally.
