Forcier no longer @ Mich.

Not surprising. The kid has some talent and there is about zero probability of him playing ahead of Robinson. Good move on his part. + I think he can transfer, redshirt a year and get his grades in order...

Well there goes my theory. I was think maybe Hoke could try and convince D-Rob to come back as a running back. Forcier would be a better fit for an old-school Michigan offense (if that's the direction Hoke wants to go).

So what type of offense is he best suited for? Spread? Pistol? Pro?
Air Raid. He is too small to be a pro set QB and not enough of a running threat to run Michigan's offense. He should look at Texas Tech and other schools that run that horizontal passing game.

Actually he would probably be a good fit in the Iowa offense in a similar way that smaller QBs like Drew Tate and Brad Banks had some success in Iowa City.

Tate didn't have his best statistical year in 2004, but that was his true sophomore year. And Tate (Drew) was better suited to the shotgun, spread it out offense. He put up better numbers in 2005, but he never appeared to be quite as comfortable playing under center. Forcier seems like a very similar QB, but we only catered to Tate's strength in 2004 out of necessity.

Knowing we had that technology, as well as the technology to jam Purdue's WR's at the line a few years ago when they were throwing it all over the place, makes me more sad that this year's team seemed to refuse to shake things up when it needed to...:(

Edit: "shake things up"= adjustments, not an overhaul
