For those people complaining about Iowa's defense!

The only stat that ultimately counts defensive wise, is how many points you give up. Iowa's first team defense this year has given up 7 points, 0 points and 13 points for a total of 20 points in 3 games. That is less than 7 points per game!!! THAT IS GREAT DEFENSE!!

Did Arizona's offense move the ball against us? Yes. But in the end, they scored 13 points against us and they have a very, very good QB and offense in general.

No offense but you are not counting that first TD that the hawks gave up against Arizona. I know it was on a short field but if you're looking at technical stats, thats what stats are, they gave up 20 points against Arizona.

I know it was a short field, but the defense did technically give up 20 points to Arizona.

Though, you could argue that they got 6 back, or something. Meh.

Our defense has been good, but there are plenty of concerns. Used to be that the middle of the field was a pretty good bet for opponents to throw into, especially on 3rd down. Last year, Angerer and Edds had that area on lockdown, with Spievey and Prater holding down the CB spot. That left Sash and Greenwood with more freedom to hunt down passes.

The Arizona game highlighted several weakness on the defense. We aren't terrible, but there are weak points that need to be addressed if we want to make a run for the Rose Bowl.

Dude, Arizona recovered the block punt on the 8 yard line. 8 YARDS! Could we have prevented a TD....possibly. But that is an extremely difficult place to put your defense in. If you really want to get technical, our defense gave up 4 more points then because even if we held them to a FG, they still get 3 points b/c of our special teams.

You people need to be realistic! 8 freaking yards!! Not 25 or 30 yards. 8 yards people.
