? for people who want to fire Lick

The problem isn't so much the impatient fans as it is that we are not getting any better, and are actually regressing, 3 years in. How can you ask for patience when that is happening?

Personally, I think Lickliter's ship has already sailed, even if the team does improve next year, unless it's a miraculous turnaround. The fans have written him off and have stopped coming to the games, and going 6-12 in the Big Ten next year isn't going to excite anyone enough for them to come back. Attendance is too horrible, and won't rebound enough next year to save Lickliter's job. Heck, attendance will probably be even worse next year, with the taste that this year will leave in everyone's mouths.

Whether he gets fired this year or next, IMO, is the only question. Unless there is a miraculous turnaround, like I said. More transfers this year and you can forget about those miracles.

Ghost of BTT ... Are you always a smart a** in every post. Hmmm ... you seem to find time to be online all the time by the appearance of all of your posts ... Yet, you try to knock me for taking some time to send a letter/note to Gary Barta ... In fact, most of your posts are sarcastics comments toward any poster ... Must be nice to be as all-knowing as you when it comes to life and Hawk athletics ... Some exxciting life you must lead ...

You need the rest of this season to determine if they are going to show any signs of improvement? You can put a fork in them, they are done. You might see some kids improve statistically but thats about it. We have a very limited bench and a very limited team in general. The offense is slow and plodding, the defense is almost non-existent, the passing is brutal, we don't seem to want to play zone even though we are out manned athletically and height wise. Lick is set in his ways and come hell or high water he's going down teaching these kids the Butler way.

No offense to the kids that have signed LOIs but to think next years class will save this team is using poor basketball judgment. Our obvious needs are PG and PF/C positions. We aren't adding anyone in either of those two positions. Our deficiencies are athleticism, defense and ball handling. Not really gaining a whole lot there either. I'm not talking about improving our current team either because improving on a last place team isn't that tough to do, I'm talking about catching up with the top dogs in our conference. We add 3 stars, they add 4 and 5 stars. We are falling further and further behind. "We" might improve but our position in the conference isn't going to improve.

Funny, you say "no offense to the kids who have signed LOIs....." and then you proceed to offend them by saying they can't play defense, aren't athletic and are poor ball handlers. Naw, I'm sure they wouldn't be offended at those remarks.

Look, Lick's not going to get fired. He might quit-maybe due to health reasons- but Barta isn't pulling the plug on him this year.

He's not knocking you for sending Barta a letter. He's knocking you for thinking that Barta is going to tell you what he's going to do at the end of the season. Of course he's going to back his coach now. How bad would it look if he said that things were going bad and he was going to fire Lick at the end of the season to the public before he told Lickliter he was done.
