The problem isn't so much the impatient fans as it is that we are not getting any better, and are actually regressing, 3 years in. How can you ask for patience when that is happening?
Personally, I think Lickliter's ship has already sailed, even if the team does improve next year, unless it's a miraculous turnaround. The fans have written him off and have stopped coming to the games, and going 6-12 in the Big Ten next year isn't going to excite anyone enough for them to come back. Attendance is too horrible, and won't rebound enough next year to save Lickliter's job. Heck, attendance will probably be even worse next year, with the taste that this year will leave in everyone's mouths.
Whether he gets fired this year or next, IMO, is the only question. Unless there is a miraculous turnaround, like I said. More transfers this year and you can forget about those miracles.
