So you start a thread like this, yet you don't have one example? In that event, I don't see a need to chime in, either.
For the record Jon, he didn't start the thread....

Because it's easier to get on a podcast with Deace and rank on KF?
I got enough on my plate with my own career than having to tell someone else how to do their job. Had I wanted to be a reporter then I would have went to school for journalism.
Can you honestly say there are no questions you have ever held back because of the fear of how Rob Howe got treated or get a reply like <snort> "thats football"?
Dude. I get it. You think the press sucks. But maybe you should learn the difference between a reporter and a columnist. Because it seems that while most writers in journalists are reporters, what you want is everyone to be a columnist, expressing pointed opinions.
For reporters who are being told by editors what stories they want to run, their job is to go get specific factual answers to questions that are not based on opinon.
Natty Champs starts with a nice question and ends with something that would rightfully get him removed from the press conference. And I think that if you owned a newspaper and one of your reporters finished a question with a loaded statement such as that, you'd probably fire him.
Since, most people actually do not want to lose their jobs, it would not be too large of a logical leap to suggest that they actively try to keep their jobs.
I've been to/been part of 100+ Ferentz pressers and or interviews with Kirk on my own radio shows or 1 on 1's at media day. Which is the very essence of 'been there, done that'.
Why do you put "job" in quotes? Is there some implication that it is a lesser "job" than you do? FYI, pal, Jon Miller's "job" is 1000x more important than yours. The fact remains...it's a lot easier for you to do your "job" on a podcast with Deace, no? So, why waste the time at a presser?
I just think you were harder on KF in the podcast than I have ever heard before. But...you certainly didn't say anything out of line or anything that isn't also felt by 100,000+ other folks.

Wow. This thread has so far blatantly insulted my Jewish bros as well as first class website owners.
So what I can conclude is that the site is populated by a bunch of Anti Semitic newspaper loyalists.
yuck yuck yuck.....awwwww bruce you so funny.

I think pressers are a waste of time...I began transcribing Kirk's pressers back in 2001. Prior to that, pressers at Iowa were not transcribed. I came to loathe them because it was a couple hours of laborious monotony for very little payoff, but people seemed to like them enough and read them so I did it. One of the best days ever was the year Iowa switched to a transcription service. Then last year, the On the Side's go away, which was a bummer because that was about as frank as things ever got.
As for being critical of Kirk, I don't expect for you to have read and or heard everything I have done the last 14 years. But I've been critical, perhaps just not as far as some want..you never are. At the same time, some people came out and said lay off the man, etc.
As far as this being one of the most critical times? Yes, it is. But the juncture we are approaching in the Ferentz tenure, juxtaposed with decreasing returns, we've never been here before.
Jon, why did the on the sides go away?
