indiania has finished behind iowa the last couple of seasons, they get a game against stoneybrook on tv. really? who cares? there are so few nonconf games this year on tv, that really btn has done more harm to iowa basketball, then our previous coach has done. iowa basketball before christmas has become an afterthought.
Iowa doesn't have the tradition of Indiana, so there really is no comparision, the whole state lives and dies for that program, unlike Iowa basketball.
BTN has not done more harm to the Iowa program than any coach that has been there, that makes no sense. Maybe if Iowa beefed up their schedule a little bit they wouldn't be the afterthought they are before Christmas.
I think that has had a lot to do with the desmise of Iowa and TV in recent memory as well. There are so many factors in it, but scheduling hasn't helped anthing as much as any other factor.
BTN does really need to evaluate what they put on TV. I don't understand how a conference can have so many teams in the top ten, yet the sport is on twice a week (Volleyball). The fact is the sport plays five days a week and yet they stream it on the internet and can't play it on TV...I mention this sport for a few reasons, coaching it for one. The other reason, our AD who is the typical guy...however, he said, after paying as much attention to the sport this season, I am all in, this was his first year as an AD. Volleyball in the United States, for girls, is the highest participated sport...why when you have a conference that has had the last four national championships are there not more matches on?
Lastly, if you can stream online, put it on TV...period. The ratings have to be better than whatever they are putting on, especially if it is replays of anything.
