For Iowa's Post-Season, is it Big Ten Title Game or Bust?

All the way...let's go...I love Gatens quote....

This team is awesome.

I wonder if eventually you will see the NIT set up like the NCAA tourney. Instead of certain teams having home games, you just have multiple games at set locations.

I'd like to think 9 wins in the toughest conference would count for something but I am wearing Hawkeye goggles.

I could see that being the case and that would suck if true. It would be nice to get a reward for the quality wins we have.

That would really suck if the B1G does not allow Iowa to play in the CBI. What are these issues that they have about playing in the tournament?

Who has the real reason that iowa would not be allowed to plsy in the CBI/CIT? Why wouldn't the Big ten allow one of their teams to keep playing. It can't be because iowa would have to pony up money to play in them. they have already said they would pony up the money for a NIT home game.

Yes I'm sure the NIT is constantly looking for ways to lose more money.

It could actually save the NIT money by having it in an NCAA format don't ya think? Have you been to many NIT games. A majority of them have crowds at barely half capacity. That's a lot of resources being used for those kinds of crowds. There are exceptions like Syracuse in 2007. But those crowds are few and far between.

Not to mention, the NCAA is trying to make an effort to legitimize this tournament in a way. I would think having games on a neutral floor would be a good step at doing that.

I like tournaments being on campus. I wish the NCAA tourny was on campus for the top seeds.

The CIT only takes mid-major schools and the CBI is a pay-for-play. I don't know why the Big Ten wouldn't allow the CBI if Iowa foots the bill. Fran has already said they would play in the CBI if able this season.

The Big Ten should have zero say in this and if Iowa turns it down they are foolish. They could get a home game, pay for it, and fans would show up.

Simply stupid for Iowa to only be able to shoot for the NCAA's. Especially since post-season basketball of any kind would be a step up right now.

Not me. The selection committee already does the top seeds a favor by placing them in regions that are relatively close to them. I think that's a good enough advantage. I like that the games are played on neutral courts.

I just like the idea of an on campus atmosphere for a tournament game. It would be crazy.

I don't think we need to win tomorrow to get a NIT bid, but we're borderline. We just don't want to get blown out by MSU and germinate any doubt in the selection committee.

If Iowa beats MSU tomorrow I would have to say that they are in the NIT. I think they are close if not in even if they lose.

I think we have to win at the game tomorrow to get in.I'm not convinced that will be enough.
