Football salaries...

Texas was 5-7 last year and just 6-3 so far this year. Of course they'd won 10 games for 8 straight seasons prior, including 13 games twice.

Stoops went 8-5 in '09 and the boo birds were out.

Petrino at Arkansas went 5-7 and 8-5 in '08/'09

Mark Richt at Georgia went 8-5 and 6-7 the last 2 yrs and was considered on the hot seat, though currently 8-2 after an 0-2 start.

My point is that even the finest coaches have teams that stumble. If Ferentz starts delivering a pattern of mediocrity, I'll be concerned, but until then will give him every benefit of the doubt.

At least they get better recruits.

Who do all of these people that say he is over paid propose should happen?

Lower his salary and watch him leave?
Fire him and hire someone cheaper? I mean, we all know our elite program will attract high level coaches willing to take a pay cut to coach here.

Our program makes a good chunk of money and he is a big part of that. He deserves to get paid.
