Flop of the year in Big Ten

Northwestern had won like 15 of their last 16 B1G games. Northwestern won the B1G west last year. Northwestern has 1 win, and has a historically bad offense.

Nebraska was picked to win the B1G west, and they are below .500, and are 2-4 in the B1G right now. They are in real danger of not even being bowl eligible.

Iowa was picked to win the B1G west, and is 6-2. They still are very much in the race to win the B1G west.

As I said, if Iowa ultimately drops to a 7-5 level then yeah, you could make the case that is the most disappointing team. Yet to try to say that TO DATE Iowa has been the most disappointing is ludicrous, and I think you even know it.

Just think the program is so much better than you give it credit for. You can't put out that kind of d and be that bad on O. It just seems like such a waste

NW was as good at making the most of it than Iowa has under achieved. Any ability to move the pile and we d be talking playoffs or at least Big Championship game. Any ability to push into the end zone. Any...

LOL, Iowa is 6-2 right now. Sure if Iowa finished 7-5 or something like that you could make this argument. To say that now Iowa is the most disappointing when you have a 1-7 NW and a 4-5 Nebraska is just flat out trolling.

I would add to this if Iowa loses a bunch of guys early to the NFL and goes 7-5 you could make that argument. If Iowa goes on a run and wins the West, or even finishes 10-3 overall and a high ranking but loses 4-5 guys, okay they at least have something to show for it.

Sorry but you are way off here. Fat Pitz not only hates the Hawks but he has had F...ing Freshman running backs go on the BTN and make sure everyone knows it!! That was just 4 or 5 years ago. Fritz may be a very good coach but if you are rooting for NW, you are missing the boat. I enjoy every beat down nw gets and especially when they are pathetic like this year. I would not even watch them if it wasn't for Fritzspastic. Stanfloored is another team you need to hate. When they dissed the Hawks with those slinky cows at halftime of the Rose bowl, that's all I needed to start enjoying their demise. When nw played stankford this season in week 1, I enjoyed the heck out of that game because it was evident that both teams were horrendous!!!! Wake up and smell the cow chips!

But I do think he's a good coach, working under the most stringent enrollment guidelines in the B1G (I think), and there isn't another team in the B1G that's better at graduating their athletes/doing things the right way. In fact, I think they were just singled out as the only FBS school to ever have 100% graduation for their football program. But to the thread at hand, no one expected Hunter Johnson to be as bad/have as many family issues as he has had, that they would have lost QB2 to season ending injury in wk2 (?), and that they would be THIS bad offensively.

Has to be Northwestern! They have gone from winning West to a totally inept team. They just seem to have no talent especially offensively. Goes to show how fine a line there is with teams like Northwestern between success and crap!
Runnerup and everyone's sentimental favorite is Nebraska. They will need to beat us and Wisconsin to make any bowl. Frost is a good coach (i think) but turning around Nebraska is turning out to be a lot tougher than those crazy Nebraska fans (news flash) Nebraska is never going to be the Nebraska of old
I guess maybe Iowa fans should take note of how difficult it is to stay competitive. We have done a pretty good job of it in the Ferentz era

No need to apologize...you don't see it my way and that's fine. It's clear you don't like NW/Fitzgerald because he doesn't like Iowa and I'm not going to try to change your mind. I didn't believe Fritz hated Hawk Nation at first either. I thought he was too intelligent and his "hatred" was merely a psychological ploy to gain any advantage he could, however small. And then I saw his Freshman running back on BTN making sure everyone understood that he has a VERY REAL hatred for Iowa Football, which includes everyone and everything associated with it. This opened my eyes and now I get to enjoy the demise of NW football! And isn't it all about entertainment? How much fun can you have pulling for a team whose leader hates Hawk fans like you (assuming you are a Hawk fan like your user name suggests)? He doesn't want your sympathy vote and he would rather spit on your grave than accept it!! Supporting him and his program is like supporting someone who kicks your loved one in the groin and walks away laughing and dancing like the Phoenix Joker while they are writhing in pain on the ground. It's your life and you can support whatever and whoever you want to. I just choose to support Batman over the Joker.
