Fire the Iowa marching band director!!! Our halftime shows are awful.

figured for sure hokclarinet would jump all over this. this is right up his alley - and i'd bet he is in a power-position with the ability to do something about it............i've been saying this for years. we haven't had a decent drum major since the black guy with no eye brows in the early 90s....and then the same old tired and predictable routines. no passion, no fire. for goodness sakes, the leader isn't even screaming....at anyone! not so pwoud.

No idea who is in charge of that department, but they aren't doing a good job.

3rd downs you usually try to get the crowd into it. The new song they do this year is terrible when it comes to trying to get the fans up and screaming. Sure, you shouldn't need help from a sound system, but every little bit helps.
A lot of times there are extended periods of quietness where the band isn't playing and there isn't anything coming from the speakers.

There's just so many improvements that can be made. And I haven't even started with the concessions yet... but that can wait for another day.

when you have to rely on a 'song' on third down to get the fans to cheer....well........time for some marketing folks to polish up their resumes.........and maybe some fans as well.

Ha, that's why I said "Sure, you shouldn't need help from a sound system."
Winning consistently will bring in a more aggressive fan base. This year, the fans just seem relaxed and seem to be sitting on their hands. But there are people in the department getting paid nice salaries to provide entertainment to the 70,000 fans that are paying $60 a ticket. Just seems like whoever is in charge is doing a pretty lackluster job.

fans have been sitting on their hands for many years now. spoiled is a word that comes to mind. perhaps old. maybe not drunk enough with all the 11 a.m. games. my perception of the early games is it takes a very long time to get people to wake up.

I can agree on the third down but the whole atmosphere theatrics in this program are a huge FAIL as well. We have taken the same 6-7 things and done them over and over again. Once in a while they dress them up but it is lifeless.

I cannot believe someone gets paid for this worthless product.
 
I've never sat and watched the marching band perform at halftime. Does that make me a tavern marching band hok?
 
They had a live look in on the Minn-Nebby game during halftime on one of the north endzone screens. I hope they do that for halftime more often.
 
The band in general is generic and the music selection is boring. Much like the football team.
 
I have heard that random Okies are laughing at our band which makes them the laughingstock of the nation
