Fire Greg Davis.

This is rediculous. He is so goddam awful. Get someone in here who plays to the strengths of Iowa's team. KOK was not the problem. Last year's offense and this year's D would actually be an alright team!

The problem is higher up then greg davis.

It's funny when hayden was declining i was never this mad - its this conservative, cowardly BS over and over and over - its just infuriating.

KOK would have been running play action and going downfield and would have actually ran a real 2 minute offense in the 3rd quarter. We should not have scored right before the 3rd ran out we should have been trying to score and get jNW the ball with a couple minutes left and use the quarter break as a time out. We started going "up-tempo" wayyyy too late.

Davis didn't drop passes all over the field or miss an open receiver down the middle on that 4th down play, instead opting to throw an out pass 8 yards out of bounds...

Do you really think all those short passes where smart? Plus the plays were coming in late and Iowa had THREE delay of games. Vandenberg could have called a TO on one of them for sure, but that last was there was zero excuse for.

Sure there were drops and poor throws, but this playbook is awful and the playcalling is worse than when KOK was here.

They were smart if they didn't take so long between plays...the ball moved all the way down the field...what works is smart, the length of time to set up the next play is what wasn't...but even with that being said, there was time had they executed...

Yup, CFJ wide open with only the saftey inbetween him and the goal line on that 4th down.

Davis dictates the tempo. They moved the ball all the way down the field while burning clock. I suppose if you want to pad the stats that works, but not when you are trying to come back late in the game.

Vandenberg has shown he can throw a deep ball. This offensive coordinator doesn't do that.

Greg Davis is terrible.

And that safety was on his way to the sideline the second he saw JVB look that way...because JVB wasn't about to look at the second option.

exactly. its either first option, or check down to RB. that's it apparently. who's fault is that? i say both GD and JVB.

What was Northwestern going to do? Let us have a deep pass? Iowa took what they could get...the frustrating part is that they wasted so much time between plays...not the plays themselves. I won't say Davis is terrible...but I have been wondering why a guy who came in getting so much credit for adapting his O to his personnel is seemingly unable to pull Iowa out of this offensive funk in the passing game. It looked better today, but not nearly good enough.

it looked better at the end of the game because jNW was in prevent D. the first half was absolutely terrible.

I think KF will get rid of GD at the end of the year. BF will be OC, as KF sees his iron lock on the program slipping a bit and needs to quicken his plans to make the Hawks into a Ferentz dynasty.

Ha! even if that was his plan, it's too late now.

I'd blame JVB since he has the ball in his hands, but we're not at practice to see what he's being preached to do...so I'm not sure on this one, Meat.

He's using the same horizontal passing attack that he did when the had NFL caliber QB's and WR's like Jordan Shipley.

Iowa has neither yet they still are running a offensive attack that requires accurate passes and yards after catch.

I disagree with this one, Meat...it looked pretty good in the first half, minus the drops...not "awesome", but better than what we've been seeing up to this point.
