Ferentz's JUCO Recruiting Failure is ISU's Gain

The national JUCO defensive player of the year, out of Mississippi, had too much swagger and confidence for Ferentz. So he picked Iowa State over offers from Texas A&M, Mississippi State, ASU, KState, etc. Surely he could not have helped out our defense. It is way better to throw in 2 stars who we stole from UNI and let them get destroyed for a year or two while they learn. Ferentz is a dinosaur and the game has passed him by. Leaving talent on the bench and failing to mine the JUCOs show that he is incapable of change.

Wake me up when Moo U finishes in the top ten. Who gives a rat's behind about Silo Tech. There sure are a lot of anal retentive posters on this board.

By far most JC players can not be admitted to Iowa period. But most of you want Iowa to waste time chasing players that they know will not be admitted so can't sign with Iowa.

disagree, Iba. kfootball's approach is to forego the JUCO player because it interrupts the constancy of taking 2 and sometimes 3 years to groom players into starters. kfootball doesn't go after JUCO's, by and large. Instead of bringing in, say, 2 or 3 JUCO's at lb for this past season, kfootball went with unready or not very talented lb's. We got torched all season long with our lb pass coverage and edge run defense.

Forget the Jimmies and Joes, focus on the X's and O's. The details of execution win you championships.

No one is saying kfootball never does. But, it is not a part of is philosophy to do so. And All of the opposing OC's, running back and qb's that torhed Iowa's lb's all season also say hi! Where were the JUCO lb's that we could have used this season?
