Following Teddy Greenstein's twitter feed, he is talking about Pat Fitzgerald signing a contract extention through 2020:

Pat Fitzgerald is so popular at #Northwestern, he could bring back that Human Sexuality class.

A response comes...

Wow. Clever for so early in the day. RT @mherek: @TeddyGreenstein he already does a similar live demo on Ferentz most years

Assuming you all heard about the ahem, "live" demonstration in that sexuality class. I have to say, while it infuriates me, that is pretty damn funny.

Couldn't agree more. I think it's hillarious and until we start putting NU back in their place and stop allowing them to have their way with us then I have no problem with that comment. It just occured to me that I now know how PSU feels.

No, losing to NW feels worse. At least Iowa is a respectable program for Penn State to lose to. Iowa losing to NW just makes no sense to me why it happens as often as it does.

Yeah pretty sure that's exactly how Penn St fans feel about losing to Iowa. They don't view Iowa as a respectable program to lose to, just like how we feel about Nwestern

That is stupid to put Iowa and NW on the same level of respectablility. Perhaps Penn State isn't at the level they think they are.

Yes I get that. However my argument is that Iowa beating Penn State shouldn't be seen as a big shock like it is when NW beats Iowa.

And the other argument is that NW beating Iowa shouldn't be seen as a big shock.

Oh I don't think that is the case. I know very well who and where Iowa is. Do you? How do you view them?

In terms of rating the prestige of the Big Ten prior to the reconfiguration I would say:

1) Ohio St
2) Michigan
3) Penn State
4a) Wisconsin
4b) Iowa
5) Michigan St
6) Northwestern
7) Illini
8) Purdue
9) Minnesota
10) Indiana

So yes, I would say that on average, Iowa beating Penn State is fairly close to the Iowa-Northwestern.
