Ferentz Talks Minnesota Loss, Illinois Game

Q. Can you talk about some of the reasons why the team has been so inconsistent?
COACH FERENTZ: No, hu‑huh. No.

I love this. Is there anyone else in the country making north of $3.5 mil who can go in front of their boss and/or folks who write their checks who can say this after a terrible performance?

Setting - high powered senior lawyer from big NYC law firm in a meeting with c-level execs at a client who are mad that a deal got delayed due to an error by a paralegal:

Q: Your firm did a great job for us in the past, but was terrible on the deal last month. Can you explain why they were so inconsistent?

A: No, hu-huh. No.

I think I may have just put a toe into the can Ferentz camp. Heck, this would get some middle manager making $63k a year fired, but it gets Barta's unconditional support.

Here is the reality...KF feels he doesn't owe the lay fan anything in the way of explanation, and he despises having to sit and answer questions from people who he feels don't know what goes into putting a college program together. It's the Bill Belichek attitude. He feels he's above it all and most of what he does is over people's heads anyway.

Earth to KF, most of us have a better education than you, have followed the game for years, so if you EXPLAIN it to us, guess what, I'll try to follow you through the organic chemistry class you call football.

I have learned one thing though, I now know what a complete butt kicking looks like on the college football gridiron thanks to you. Nice work at Minnesota last week. I can now scratch *** kicking of my list of things I need to learn.

See, I'm doing some good things, and I've worked hard.

You know what saved Belichek's a##? Tom Brady. The problem with Kirk is why is it hard for a talented player to see the field?
