Hawkeyes award Ferentz with 10-year extension

Iowa HC Kirk Ferentz received a 10-year contract extension.

Ferentz's contract will now run through the year 2026. He will draw $4.5 million annually through to the end of the extension. That serves as a slight bump off the $4 million he was earning annually on the contract he signed in 2010. Should he reach the end of this newest extension, he will have been with the Hawkeyes for 28 years. Ferentz will try to celebrate this new deal with a win over Iowa State on Saturday.

Ferentz was never going to leave, and he doesn't need a 6 year extension with 5 years still remaining on his contract. Barta must have amnesia,that's really the only excuse he could have for repeating himself.
