I have not checked time lines to see and this is only a guess, but I bet Okeefe told KF he was trying to get that job, I know I saw where he did not find out about getting it until last week. Makes a big difference if you are just looking for a DC or a DC and an OC. I know it's not as sexy as waiting for the superbowl, but hey we are not a sexy program .

Oh I'm sure there were justifiable reasons why. I've seen many thoughts that would make sense.

Here is the thing, when you look at the big picture. We have had one trouble spot on the D for the last few years. Our O needed the most work.

December, Norm (bless his heart for all he did for us) is hanging it up, to take care of himself and spend well earned time with family.
December a report came out RK was looking around (you decide where our problems I mentioned were)
End of Jan. Philbin coaches Dolphins and needs coaches
End of Jan start of Feb Okeefe gets new job and we need a new OC.
Feb.7th we hear all this.

When you connect the dots and factor in the coaches here are OL building machines anyway, I think KF earned his money on this one. Well played and my hats off.

Will Morgan be able to stop the bleeding on the DL? Doesn't seem like the best fit to retain the type of guys that have bolted from that position at first blush. But who knows? Maybe a grandpa type is what they need after being beaten down by a drill Sargent.

He's been pretty successful at all of his different jobs. Not too worried about him. I'd like someone to instill me with a little more confidence in Wilson, though.

yeah but they hype and momentum we would of got with a name like Jim Herrmann would of been great for the team. idk you're probably right. its still frustrating knowing that KF is unwilling to hire someone outside of the program. he knows what is best for the team so i hope this will all work out!

While other B1G teams hire outside coaches and get new blood our staff shifts coaches around, the same coaches that have produced mostly 7-5 records throughout the years...

I'm excited...

Can't wait to see what internal coaches get the offensive coordinator position...

The term ultra-conservative takes on new meaning with this coach...and friendship and loyalty take on a whole new meaning with this coach...

Let's see...how many sons can he make coaches to truly make this a family affair???

I would like to see Brian get more experience before he comes back here, and I must admit, I do want an outside hire for OC, someone with play calling experience.

Before that you'd have to go all the way back to that time they hired some no name ol coach from the ravens.

On the contrary most people loved the Afford and Lick hires.
