Fantasy Football - Give me your Top 10 Players this year

I've got the #2 overall pick in this years draft and here are my thoughts:

1. Frank Gore
2. MJD
3. Ray Rice
4. AP
5. Michael Turner
6. Chris Johnson - Still overrated at this spot imo
7. Andre Johnson
8. Calvin Johnson
9. Steve Jackson
10. Matt Forte

I know a bunch of people are going to rate CJ and AP as the top 2 RBs based on history but CJ won't even be in the top 10 in RB stats at the end of the year and AP isn't going to get a lot of help this year from a geriatric QB.

The O line in TN is porous and just replaced their starting C. Radio is a terrible QB and the D will load up against the run since he is a running QB. The WR corps isn't good but they will be behind in most games since their D is pretty bad too. What that means is CJ will run for about 1100 yards this year. Not bad, but not top 2 RBs.

I think you've lost your mind. Aside from your messed up top 5, you do realize you have Forte at 10. Also, you forgot at least one if not 2 qbs since this is top 10 based on points. Just my opinion though. I've only done this for 4 years now. I always seem to have one of the top teams in the regular season then blow it in the playoffs.

Keep in mind...Chris Johnson put up those numbers last year with a touchdown vulture in Lendale White. I doubt that his backup this year (Javon Ringer) will take many goal line touches away from him...he could get even better.

Lendale ran the ball 64 times last year (that's just over 5 times per game). CJ ran the ball 358 times last year.

I'm a SF fan, but there's no way Gore is #1 player! It IS CJ, AP, then I'd go MJD. After that it's debatable between Rice and Gore. Forte is not worthy of being a top 10 RB, let alone a top 10 overall player.

How could a guy who ran for over 2,000 yards be overrated?
1. Chris Johnson
2. AP
3.MJD
4. Rice
5.Gore
6.Turner
7.Rodgers
8.Brees
9.Andre Johnson
10.Shonn Greene

EDIT:
As of the 2009 season, there have been six 2,000 yard rushers in the NFL:
1984 - Eric Dickerson - 2,105 yards
2003 - Jamal Lewis - 2,066 yards
1997 - Barry Sanders - 2,053 yards
1998 - Terrell Davis - 2,008 yards
2009 - Chris Johnson - 2,006 yards
1973 - O.J. Simpson - 2,003 yards

I've got probably 5 or 6 teams on ESPN (I get bored, and I like the drafts lol). But this is probably my best one (includes defensive players).

QB Starters: Tony Romo, Brett Favre, Joe Flacco, Vince Young (as an Offensive Player)

RB starters: Chris Johnson, Shonn Greene, Leon Washington. Bench: Clinton Portis, Darren McFadden, Chester Taylor.

WR starters: Larry Fitzgerald, Miles Austin, Sidney Rice, Jeremy Maclin (as WR/RB), Jerricho Cotchery (as WR/RB). Bench: Devery Henderson

TE starters: Dallas Clark, Antonio Gates (as Offensive Player), Tony Gonzalez (as Offensive Player).

DT's: Mike Patterson and Jonathon Babineaux
DE's: Jared Allen and Mario Williams
LB's: James Laurinaitis, London Fletcher, and Chad Greenway
CB's: Darrelle Revis, Leon Hall, and Richard Marshall
S's: Darren Sharper, Bob Sanders, and Troy Polamalu
K's: Nate Kaeding and Stephen Gostkowski
P: Dustin Colquitt
Head Coach: McCarthy
D/ST: Texans (the one really weak spot in my lineup).

Here's my team I just drafted for my money league. It's pretty good I think. I think it will be even better later in the season though and you will see why.

QB's: Brett Favre, Ben Rothlisberger
WR's: Anquan Boldin, Hines Ward, Santana Moss, Santonio Holmes, Malcom Floyd, Steve Breaston
RB's: Ray Rice, Ryan Matthews, Ricky Williams
TE's: Brent Celek, Heath Miller
K: Lawrence Tynes
DEF: Baltimore

Not too bad for having the 8th pick. I was able to pick up big Ben and Holmes in very late rounds and I believe they will be helping me out after their suspensions. The only mistake I made was Favre has a week 4 bye and Ben wont be back until week 5 so I will have to figure something out. Not too worried about it though. BTW this is a 10 team PPR league.

I still don't have confidence in Steven Jackson to draft him in the first round. I would probably go Manning, Greene, Mendenhall or Romo before Jackson.

OK guys, I need advice. I asked in another thread too, but here it is again.

I am in a keeper league. This is the 4th year of the league. I have to choose three keepers for this season. Here they are and in parentheses is what round I would keep them in for our 2010 draft:

4th rd: Reggie Wayne, WR
5th rd: Randy Moss, WR
10th rd: DeAngelo Williams, RB
11th rd: Rashard Mendenhall, RB
12th rd: Shonn Greene, RB
16th rd: Pierre Thomas, RB

I also have Favre in the 14th rd and Celek in 15th.

I am thinking Moss, Williams and Greene, but I really like Mendenhall. I am trying to trade Wayne and Thomas for picks since I will likely lose them anyhow unless I am able to re-draft them.

How in the world did you get Rice with the 8th pick in a ppr format? Where the other guys in your league dropping acid? He had 78 catches last year

Mendenhall WITHOUT a doubt. That kid is a second or third rounder at worst. Obviously keep Greene for the same reasons and Williams would be a pretty solid RB corps for the year. If you keep those guys I'm assuming you give up a pick in the respective rounds that you took them right? So you would lose a 10th, 11th and 12th round picks to have probably a top 3 RB group.

You then focus on WRs for the 1st and 2nd round and pick up a solid QB with your 3rd Rd pick. Everyone else is probably going to either need to use 1-3rd round pick to get a RB or keep the RB they drafted prior so you should end up with two great WRs and a solid QB.

Moss is past his prime and Welker is back and improving. Wayne would be a nice keeper but I think given the choice I would keep 3 of the top 15 RBs on my roster and use them as trade material later. Plus Green and Mendenhall are just getting their careers underway.

I haven't really considered keeping all three RBs. That's interesting. Yeah, I'd just "redraft" those 3 in rounds 10-12. You really think Moss isn't a top fantasy WR? My thought is I'd like to "keep" three guys who will be starters on my team. If I go RB RB RB then I will have to hope a WR falls to me in the draft.

Keep Moss, Mendenhall, and Greene. Two RB's is enough; you should be able to get a starter as a later pick (guys like Arian Foster, Michael Bush, Justin Forsett) who is more than adequate as a RB3. You don't want to get shut out at all WR spots.

Two RBs is not enough. The key here is looking not only at this year but also further down the road. Moss will be available in the 2nd round even in a keeper league. You are going to have these guys kept in almost any league:

Johnson
AP
MJD
Frank Gore
Michael Turner
Ray Rice
Andre Johnson
Steven Jackson

It will make no difference if those teams picked them in the 1st round or 15th round, they will not drop those players so they will not be available to you regardless if you draft 1st overall of last in the round.

I like Moss but in the end do you really want to give up a 4th round pick for a top 15 WR or last round picks for top 15 RBs (all 3 of them?). RBs win leagues, WRs win weeks. The only thing consistant about WR points is the inconsistancy. Plus the bye weeks work out great for those 3 RBs as they don't overlap and they are fairly early in the season.

Williams, Mendenhall and Greene are all 1st or 2nd round draft picks regardless of position in any mock draft. Why give an opponent any of those players? You keep all 3 and give up basically nothing for any of them. You add WRs and a QB in the first 4 rounds, then work on best available regardless of position from 5th on. Most of your opponents are giving up 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks to keep their players.

Depending on where you start your drafting order, you will more than likely pick no worse than 5th overall and probably top 3.
