Fant / Hockenson

Geez, I'm sure these guys are saying, "please, I'll take Nate Stanley, anyone over who's playing now." Fant is wide open for a touchdown in the flat and Allen bounces it 3 feet in front of him. Fant then runs a crossing route in the red zone against the flow of play action, is wide open and Allen doesn't throw it.

I've not watched the Detroit game but Hock has only had one target.

I saw a play in the 4th quarter where hock blocked, then went out in pattern, qb rolled a smidge to the left, hock had the entire right side open. if driskel dumps it to him, he literally walks 60 yards for a td. no throw.
I know this. it'd be nice to have had either or both those guys this year. Can't blame em. But yeah both are being used poorly. They had fant in blocking on almost every third down, the guys a brutal blocker, he's like your best receiving option, besides sutton and you got him in trying to block griffin from minny.

Wait, THAT Jeff Driskell? The super recruit that went to Florida back in the day.

I think this Spanish guy mentions him at 1:40 in this video:

damn, that video is funny as hell.... I started laughing just like the guy.

Back to the TEs. Yes they've been misused, total waste of talent and money.

I'm sure the losing is frustrating for both of them, but part of that disappointment and frustration will be alleviated this morning when they report for a brief film breakdown and their game check is waiting for them.

I find it hard to feel sorry for anyone that leaves college early for the league. It's about a paycheck now so while I feel bad that they're not being as productive as they'd of liked they're getting paid. Unfortunately this is the downside of going higher in the draft. If they'd of been able to stay off the draft board until later in the round they might have had better opportunities to be productive on better teams.

Yes and no. The Bears, who would have picked around 25 or so if they had a first round pick, have been one of the NFL'S biggest busts. The Rams picked even later and are still trying to get their ship righted. Meanwhile teams like the Bills and Seahawks and been big surprises. Denver is right there with the playoff contenders, they just need to find a quarterback.

Valid point.

Hock has been singled out by his OC for being inconsistent and they were expecting more out of him. Fant has struggled with drops and penalties. He’s been better lately though.

2 targets/1 completion in a game don't help build consistency. His teamate Golliday had 5 targets and one completion, so maybe his OC is just trying the KHITA management style to motivate him.

I did see the end of the Denver game, and Fant had two targets at the end that would have been the game winning TD. One was nearly uncatchable though.

Rookie ups and downs. Kittle showed some flashes his rookie yr too but by no means was he being talked about as a top 10 or best overall player at the position after that year. Hock is on a team with a good veteran QB in Stafford but he's hurt now with a WR heavy group. He's usually the 3rd option at best most plays.

Fant was struggling all the way around. Yet playing a lot which is great. Allowing him to play through and learn. He's done noticeably better the last 2/3 wks. Hopefully he'll have a strong back half of the season. He needs a good QB too and even a healthy Flacco isn't the answer to that
