The coaches are the ones responsible for teaching fundamentals and recruiting the players they believe they can teach to be better. It's a developmental program, meaning the coaches need to develop the players they choose to recruit. The players certainly are not without fault, but in college football, where the coaches make a lot of money to decide who to bring into the program and then coach them up, they should receive the brunt of the responsibility when things don't go well. Two years ago, KF won the Dodd national coach of the year award when things were going well. Now, he and his staff are on the hook for the failures. That's how it works, IMO.
