If you’re in what’s called a permanent house (not permanent but looks like an enclosed trailer) it’s as comfortable as you can afford. My boss has an Ice Castle (google it) with a 60” big screen, surround sound, a bar, 2 couches, stove, oven, bathroom, kitchen table, card table, and sleeps 8 people. Recessed LED lighting all over the place. He put a clear livewell in the wall that looks like an aquarium, and hooked his underwater camera up to the big screen. He also has $50K in the whole setup so take that for what it’s worth. Is it truly warm? That seems to be counter to my logic. I get the wind break will reduce the cold, but you are still on the middle of a frozen lake. Am I missing something here?
I use a 2 man portable flip over and have just as much fun fishing in that as I do a permanent (I catch more fish too because I can move). In the winter it’s every weekend, both days for my 10 year old and I. Finding a GF who’ll put up with that is about impossible but I did somehow.
