Even the weather is trolling Nebraska fans

After the long off-season and the hype...they didn't get to beat up on Akron. There must have been some tears flowing yesterday. Now they have Colorado coming in, and Colorado actually showed some good offense yesterday. It won't be a pushover and I expect Colorado to challenge Nebraska's defense. I usually root for the B10 in the out of conference, but I just can't seem to do that with Nebraska. I just enjoy watching them lose too much.

I think the weather may have done Nebraska a favor. Akron isn't a tomato can. They made it to the MAC championship last year and have a pretty solid QB. Bowden has been coaching for a long time and Nebraska doesn't have the proven line play to just roll over a decent MAC team.

Is it true that when Nebraska was walking down the tunnel to the playing field, that Frost got lost along the way?

Early report: Remants of Tropical Storm Gordon may be visiting parts of the Midwest just in time for this game.

Missouri and Illinois are expected to see the best chance of the heaviest rains but cities in the I-80 corridor, like Iowa City and Lincoln, are not without some risk.

So the Cyclones will have yet another excuse to use when they lose. The rain negated their superior speed and tipped the game in favor of the Hawkeyes...

Yet when free throws spin out because the floor is vibrating and the whole backboard is shaking then it's just "Hilton Magic".

Note; the overall atmosphere at Hilton, just from what I've seen on TV, puts CHA to shame.

Been there for a couple games including Lafester's big game and saw a pre-knee injury Matt Bullard stuff a couple for Colorado, and yes, Hilton is loud and crazy. Kind of like a silly silo. That place would kill nearly 50% of current Iowa fans from heart attack. I got chewed out for cheering too loud on my last visit to CHA by a George Burns lookalike.

I'll revisit the Lafester Rhodes legendary 1987 game when it gets closer to Iowa-Iowa State hoops. If you were born after 1975 or so and don't have any recollection of the game, it was as unbelievable as the stories you've heard.

To be fair, the overall atmosphere at a nursing home on Bingo night puts CHA to shame.

Made me chuckle.

Not a Nebraska fan at all. I will be watching to see how the "New" Huskers do. If Colorado wins it won't bug me at all
