It looks like he's starting to defy court orders. He's also allowing his tech bro team to do things that may be counter to our constitution and are illegal.
For those that really love America, our system rests on three separate, co-equal branches of government. The administrative branch is just one of those branches, and is not above the other two. However, it seems that many of his followers have a tremendous zeal to give the administrative branch unlimited power. Our congress handles appropriations, and our judicial branch decides on legal issues.
Or do they? If we want the administrative branch to decide how money is appropriated, cancel government agencies, and ignore court orders, we no longer have the country we thought we had. Why are some of you so balls deep in love with the guy that you're willing to veer towards fascism?

Ok now I see the hoops you jumped through to say that sentence without "lying". So Trump was guilty of paying hush money (which is legal) out of campaign funds (which is illegal and should be). But you can make the argument that since his crime of using campaign funds inappropriately technically helped influence the election, your statement can be correct in a round about way.

In reality, if trying to keep negative publicity quiet while running for office was a felony, every politician in the history of government would be guilty. Trump isn't guilty of the crime of influencing an election. He's guilty of inappropriately using campaign funds. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Here's a pretty good article from CBS that is somewhere in the middle of what we are both saying.
So the prosecution argued that it was a felony because they had intent to interfere with the election. But then they laid out three possible unlawful means and instructed the jury they didn't have to agree on what the means were. It was basically set up that if the jury believed Trump falsified business records, they had to call it a felony. Very shady work by that judge to string all of that together like that. For anyone who reads that article, pay close attention to why there were 34 felonies. That part is almost funny it's so over the top.
People are sick of the government over spending so much to the point that corruption is clearly involved. If democrats don't want Musk or Trump in charge if it, that's one thing and completely understandable. But not a single Democrat is saying "ok this needs to be done, but let's do it a better way where both sides can trust the process better". I would be ecstatic if democrats would jump on board with finding a better way.
It has and always will be a law testing and breaking administration under the felon POTUS . This won’t change and the country will withstand it with law enforcement and following the Constitution or we will become another failed democracy. How America cannot see this is beyond my understanding.

BTW I seriously doubt that the deficit will decrease. But it's red meat for the maga base, so there you go.
Decreasing taxes on those in the top tax bracket, while keeping everyone else pretty much the same, decreases government revenue. I suspect the deficit change will be a net zero, with decreased funding for government programs, and increased wealth for billionaires.
Corruption my ass. The corruption that is happening is occurring right now.

That is a tough one. If you make it so cleaning up corruption is unconstitutional, then the only two options are to let the corruption go or ignore the constitution.
The good thing about the deficit is that is a set number to check on in four years. I have serious doubts it will too. But I'm hopeful. If it doesn't decrease, and I don't see a dramatic decrease in my taxes, then I'll be very disappointed because it will mark the end of our country as we know it. Whether that end is in 5 years or 50 years, our debt will end us if something drastic doesn't happen.
What is your response to democrats not wanting another solution to cleaning up spending? When you say corruption my ass, are you saying there isn't any pre Trump?
The weird thing about obeying a judge is I'm sure the other side can always find a random judge to stop (at least temporarily) a president. That's a tough one because checks and balances are really important. But a president only has four or eight years to accomplish what he was voted in to do. If that entire time is spent fighting potentially radical judges (that could be from either side) then you can pretty much delay everything getting done long enough for the president to be out of office. I guess don't have a good answer on the "president obeying a judge" question. I'm sure if a Democrat president was trying to get something done they were voted in to do, and some random judge kept blocking/delaying everything, a lot of people wouldn't like that much either.
I do understand your nervousness on all of this. I just really hope Trump can power through and get the stuff done he's trying to get done, and at the end it's so obvious it was the right thing to do that even most hard-core liberals come around. If your way of life and everyone you personally know's way of life isn't impacted negatively after four years, and the deficit drops 10 million (probably an unreasonable number but just throwing one out there) would you think those four years was a success?
You say all of this like what the government was doing before Trump was working. Do you even factor in the part where everything the government touches sucks and costs 10 times more than it should? Is that even part of your equation before slamming people who want change?
100% of your infrastructure decay or your lowering of real income rests in the hands of the GOP politicians that run the state of Iowa. The immigrants didn’t do it nor the transsexual. If you have complaints call your GOP politicians. No democratic ones to call and or they have zero chance to do anything here in Iowa.
