I've been biting my tongue for the last few weeks with everyone bashing montell & his B10 performance.

I sure as hell hope Evans is ready to wrestle at '84 because right now our '84 just doesn't get it. He has all the potential in the world. It's terribly frustrating to me.

You mean Gambral I think. You may be right. I agree with you up to this point in the season, but if GG can have a big couple days here all is forgiven forgetten

If Gambrall wrestled his way to AA you might be right but he won't. His head isn't in this the way it should be. You can tell by his attitude that he is not living the life.

ur not the only one noticing that.....he needs the fire and just looks burnout hopefully this summer is good to him

I watch him at home meets, & I see a kid that thinks he's big sh$t because he's on the Iowa wrestling team. I see a kid on the mat who really doesn't get it.

I wish Metcalf or someone would pull him aside & kick his a$$; the thought of the brands bros breathing down your throat should be enough but obviously it isn't for this kid.

I say this with all respect because I think this kid is a tremendous talent, I just don't see tremendous effort out of him.

So Gambrall doesn't "get it" but the kid who got a DUI in season does?

And Gambrall seemed to "get it" when he upset the 5th seed to get into the quarters today right when the team needed it most... He also seemed to "get it" when he majored quentin wright (big ten O.W winner) when the dual was on the line....Seemed like he "got it" when he posted a major in his last match at big tens with the title on the line.

I suppose the way gambrall frustrates you, your nonsensical post frustrates me.

If Grant could put two matches together like he did against Wright, then I wouldn't be making this arguement. But he doesn't. If he AA's, I'll definitely be the first to say I was wrong. But Even against Leblanc he was making the same mistakes as he did in the pigtail match. But what the f#@k do I know, listen to Ironside calling Grants matches and he says the same damn thing.

I am going to say something that may ruffle a few feathers. As I watch these other teams such as Penn State who have a lot of PA kids on the team, one thing becomes apparent. East Coast wrestlers wrestle to pin, they rack up points. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of others that don't wrestle to pin but Penn States big dogs wrestle to pin. The Hawks have got to start to wrestle to pin. There are some here that wrestle not to lose. In my opinion Gambral is one of those guys. This is what Tom means by building the lead. You can't wrestle defensively the hole match period.
So if you say let's get Evans in the line up I agree. The kids wrestling results proved it this year, 12 pins this year, thats a ton of bonus in my book. Like I said JMO

I think you need to look at the competition both guys have faced this year. I think Gambrall would have had similar stats had he faced the guys Evans was pinning at the events he competed at. The only placed the faced similar competition was at Midlands and neither fared very well. Evans still needs to improve a lot on his feet to do damage at a tournament like NCAA's.

Grant's not "getting" it, extends as far back as his freshman year of high school @ City High when Coach Smith called him out on his work ethic. & you can read into Grant's transfer to West High as a result of that.

Like I said, I'll eat some crow but the way he wrestled, or should I say, didn't wrestle in the match against Rutt, is exactly why GG frustrates me. It should have never come to OT if Grant would have been more aggressive.

He's a 12 seed and just beat the 4 and 5 seed. He has a legitimate shot to make the NCAA finals and he's an all american. What the hell else do you want from him? If he wins the title are you gonna say he should've got bonus points? Back off man.

I think the most frustrating thing about this is your post. GG just made all american and you are still complaining. Just eat crow/admit you are wrong and move on.
