Top 25 according to Jason King:
1. Kentucky
2. Louisville
3. Michigan State
4. Arizona
5. Duke
6. Ohio State
7. Florida
8. Syracuse
9. Michigan
10. Oklahoma State
11. North Carolina
12. Wichita State
13. Virginia Commonwealth
14. Memphis
15. Marquette
16. New Mexico
17. Gonzaga
18. Baylor
19. Tennessee
20. Indiana
21. Kansas
22. Colorado
23. Connecticut
24. UCLA
25. IOWA

Fifteen others on the cusp: Alabama, Arizona State, Boise State, Butler, Creighton, Georgetown, Harvard, Kansas State, Notre Dame, Saint Louis, Stanford, St. John's, Villanova, Virginia, Wisconsin.

25. Iowa Hawkeyes: The Hawkeyes missed the NCAA tournament last season, but they should feel good about going 9-9 in the rugged Big Ten and finishing second in the NIT. Both were major accomplishments for a rapidly improving program. Don't be surprised if 2013-14 is the season when Iowa really turns the corner. Every key player will return from a team that went 25-13 overall last season. Included in that mix are leading scorers Roy Devyn Marble (15 points) and Aaron White(12.8), who also averaged a team-high 6.2 rebounds. With teams such as Indiana, Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan losing a lot, the well-coached Hawkeyes have a chance to finish as high as third in the Big Ten while earning an NCAA tournament bid for the first time since 2006.

This seems sketchy. UI #25 and IU #20? That doesn't make sense to me.
We are totes superior to that team.

Why did you have to ban Activebadger? WHY???????;)

Nice. Very early to be ranking teams, but nice to be in the conversation. Next winter could be a very fun one in Carver.

I think IU is going to be challenged to get to the 4th seed next year behind only MSU,OSU,and Michigan.
They only return Yogi and Sheehey out of their top 8 guys.
They have a nice class coming in,and Perea probably will be good enough, but still not sold on them being better than Iowa....too young, and too creanie.

Wasn't Yogi asked to leave?

I just don't like being one spot behind UCLA. It is like Alford is still annoying us with his arrogant ways.

In a shocker Andy Katz has Iowa ranked too high and Wisconsin ranked too low...I am simply in amazement:

it's always good to look back at these rankings for some levity.

iowa has taken some bad lumps but still doing better than projected.

Wow. There are some teams that are off the chart bad now. Lots of miss in the pre-season ranking.

Exactly.

Indiana, Gonzaga, Oklahoma State, and Ohio State look very overrated.

Wichita state looks better, Arizona looks better, Wisconsin wasn't even ranked.

Good bump job here.

And Iowa is slightly better than predicted.
