ESPN weighs in with their upset pick of the week.

That is just flat out dumb. So if someone is a 1 pt underdog, you consider that an "upset"? I have seen you say a ton of stupid crap on this forum for months now, but this one takes the cake. You have to be at least a 7 to 10 point underdog to even start the discussion of "upset win"

Wow. That speaks for itself. An upset is not an upset unless the margin is at least 7 points. If a team is favored by 6 and they lose, that doesn't count as an upset.

So your basic argument here is that the word "upset" doesn't mean what it actually means. Got it.

He will shock the world this March by picking two 9 seeds to upset 8 seeds...then he will get really crazy and put salt on his french fries. INSANITY!!!!!!!!

Well, Illinois did beat a MAC team last year, their only FBS win of the season. Apparently the Illini don't consider that conference to be too terribly daunting.

You said anytime a B1G team loses to a MAC team it would be an upset.

My point was if Illinois had lost to NIU last year it would not have been an upset.

Im still right.

He's relying on one definition of an upset, as he says in his video, "For some reason" Iowa is favored. He doesn't even really think Iowa should be favored, so he barely would consider this an "upset". So the answer is to those who have chosen to debate the term "upset" - you're both right and you're both wrong. "Upset" in terms of a point differential that is set for the sole purposes of betting on games? Yes, it would be. "Upset" in terms of NIU being the surprise winner? No, it would not be.

Expected to win by who? I fully expect Iowa to beat ISU even though they are 4 pt underdogs, and I won't consider it an "upset" at all.

Vegas sets line to even out money bet....not to tell you who is gonna win and by what margin. So unless you poll a lot of people to find out who the majority favor to win, you don't really know at all. If one dude bet a mil on Iowa, and a million bet $1 on NIU, Vegas doesn't care. How many people in that case think Iowa is the favorite and how many think NIU is?
