ESPN weighs in on IA v MN controversy

Come on guys. Don't be so hard on the refs. I sort of feel sorry for them. Anybody that saw the end of that game thinks those refs are either crappy refs or on the take.
I just hope if they were on the take they got a good pay off cause they earned it. They really stuck their necks out on that obvious homer jump ball call.

Fran should just tell his players now, if you aren't bleeding, you probably aren't going to see the foul called on MSU. Also, they will get at least 4 steps without dribbling.
Somebody better give Fran a pot brownie or something before the game or else he's going to go nuclear.

Hey, that reminds me I have a box that's about to expire, thanks DJL

Not as bad as this referee! She's very hideous and horrible! She's worse referee. I ever seen. I'll be keeping my eyes out for her mistakes!

Iowa got screwed by the refs and lost another close game...

Where have I heard this before...my memory is slipping...

Terrible, terrible call.

With that being said I am okay with the B1G saying they aren't going to review or make appologises. Bad calls happen and sometimes teams get effed. This time we got the short stick. It will happen again. Throwing the refs under the bus by admitting faults and issuing apology letters does nothing but make your conference look weak and give other schools precident to make excuses later.

When Iowa calls their first timeout today, I suggest Fran, assistants, bench, trainers, crowd behind the bench,etc....all run on the floor and yell timeout in the official's face. Be worth the T

No shit, I noticed that to.

Exactly. They are just pretending that it is a judgement call on if he called the TO BEFORE the jump ball. It isn't a judgement call, you can hear it on the video. Also it isn't a judgement call on if a player is in bounds or out of bounds.

Just another reason that it is harder and harder to watch big time college bball. havent watched the NBA for 20-30 years because of the refs and how the primadonnas get away with murder.

I have had a long time opinion that many times referees have a predetermined inclination who is supposed to win the game. They subconsciously make borderline calls in favor of that team.

I'm not saying that was the case in the Gopher game. IMO, that was just a BS call by a ref that could possibly have had something at stake in that game.

Or maybe he was just partial to tattoos.
