ESPN: "Teams fear Iowa State..."

The result might not end up being very fearful, but at least they come to play. They should be feared. Iowa likes to lose to teams that have "something to prove". NW, ISU, Minny, etc.

That's because those teams circle Iowa on the calendar. Iowa it seems just crosses those teams off. However, I don't think any FBS school fears those schools or any school just because they show up to play, they may respect them though. The players wouldn't be playing football at their school if they feared another team that they play regularly.

Fear is anytime Iowa has played in the Horsehoe in my lifetime. ISU has NEVER (even in 1999-2000) put Iowa out of a game at halftime like OSU often seems to. Those are the types of teams I would describe as fear-inducing.

I've certainly learned to not expect easy wins vs ISU, but from a fan standpoint, I'm always reasonably confident the Hawks will physically have the upper hand against the Clones.

Teams should respect a Rhoads coached team. That's what the point is for those of you who can't seem to properly comprehend.

If that is the point, why didn't the blogger say as much? Why did he say "fear"?

I respect Rhoads as a coach, but I don't "fear" ISU.

This alleged "fear" must be because ISU stole USC's jersey design and their opponents are becoming confused..

rhoads hasn't earned respect yet, and neither have teh clownz
career record of 19-20 is not worthy of respect

Haha, I love this. Because they don't care about any other game. Just us. Not arrogant (or stupid) at all*

hey man - hold on a sec. you have to remember who and what you are talking about here.

I'm assuming he has the best record any sacrificial clown coach has had after three years.

some programs would call this type of success being on the hot seat. clownz call it victory, and wrap said sacrificial lamb up with a long-term contwact.

Copyright Ferentz/Rhodes debate between the ESPN conference bloggers. Do you think the Big 12 blogger actually believes that?

"Teams fear Iowa State, and after last year's win over Oklahoma State, how could they not? Iowa State's anything but a gimme win these days. That alone is worth a lot.

What's Ferentz done for Iowa's perception across the Big Ten?"

All that blog was missing was a couple of "Jane, you ignorant SLUT" comments.

So Rhoads gets the most out of his talent, huh? OK, but hasn't that been KF's reputation for the majority of his tenure?

7-6 against the Hawks? Good for him. Just barely better percentage than his overall record as HC. Talk to me ten years from now, when Ferentz has moved on and Rhoads is still at ISU.

Oh, wait...In the unlikely event that Rhoads improves on his current winning percentage (whether it be against Iowa or overall), he won't be at ISU anymore, just like the last (insert random number here) coaches.

I realize that the last couple of seasons have been underwhelming from an Iowa fan's seat, but Rhoads has a long way to go to acheive Ferentz's overall respect in the college football/NFL world. I will give ISU five seasons starting now to finish in the Top 10 ONCE and play in ONE BCS bowl game (current game considered BCS). Hell, I bet they won't even make the B12 championship game.

Any takers?
