ESPN radio say Hawks "very easy schedule."

Compared to Ohio State's it's a murderers row.
While I agree with you SR, the emphasis was on OSU playing #13 Miami and Iowa not playing any ranked teams (Zona not ranked by ESPN) in the non-conference. Then, the tough Big 10 teams for Iowa are at home (Wisc and OSU) while OSU plays at Wisc and at Iowa. No mention that OSU does not play Michigan State or Northwestern.

I get that, and I don't really care who OSU is playing. For an OSU fan to come here and say that Iowa has a weak OOC is pretty laughable, especially when you consider that OSU rarely leaves the state of Ohio in the non-conference.

I'll take home games against ISU and a roadie against Arizona and put it up against their schedule any day of the week.

Their other three games are Ohio, Marshall, and Eastern Michigan. Please. Bill Snyder thinks that is weak.

haha OSU plays a huge national game almost every year. USC, Texas, Miami, upcoming vs. Oklahoma, Va. Tech and Cal. Where's Iowa's big games? Is Arizona or Iowa State suppose to impress me? Are top teams still "scared" to play a home and home with Iowa? Haha, throw a little more weak sauce on that argument....

If you watch the 2nd video (after Ferentz) they show the 3 easiest schedules. Brad Edwards who has always been a terrible analyst is giving his thoughts. This is the guy that is supposed to be their BCS expert and he's always way off.

They also lose that game more often than not, but I'm sure you all ready knew that.

Anyhow, your argument that Iowa has a weak non-con (especially when compared to OSU's) is not a good one. OSU doesn't have two teams BCS teams in their non-con, and isn't leaving the state of Ohio, let alone travelling two time zones to the West.

If the crux of your argument is that OSU has Miami, that's easily countered with a road trip to the desert.

so a trip to play a mediocre Arizona team trumps playing a top 15 at home? Ok, got it. The BCS should factor in your SOS theories before making their calculations...

I'll take a shot in the dark; all sec teams have the most difficult schedule. espn is a broken record with no creativity and no dimension.

Espn has no love for Iowa. They are too busy talking about who is going to replace Jesus Tebow and in bed with the likes of alabama and Bosie. I am with hawkeyentexas espn radio in dallas sux.

Mediocre? You realize a lot of publications are picking Arizona to finish 2nd or 3rd in the PAC 10...you consider the 2nd or 3rd best team in a conference "mediocre"?

Hell, I'd go as far to say that Arizona would give Miami a run for their money if the two teams played....I'm not really convinced that Miami is THAT much better than Arizona given what I saw from Miami last season.

Most projections I've seen have Arizona having a 5-4 or 4-5 PAC-10 record. That pretty much defines mediocre. Not to mention that the PAC-10 this year will be Big Eastish.....

On ESPN TV this morning, I believe it was Brad Edwards who did this segment and it was the easiest schedules among teams ranked in the Top 10. There was also a segment with the 3 teams in the Top 10 with the hardest schedules and I believe Alabama had the toughest, OSU was one of the 3, and I can't remember the 3rd team (getting old).

This makes sense, when taken in this context.

Speaking from a broader view, these types of comments come from sports writers who may have a vote, week in and week out, where teams are ranked.

And the rankings matter. And these guys are uninformed idiots.

I've said it a hundred times, and here's #101....please please please...take the NC OUT of the hands of these idiot voters and institute an 8-team playoff.

Then these types of writers/idiots can be ignorant all they want as it won't matter a bit.

I've heard next week they've booked Zook and Brewster for a round table on "what it takes to win a big ten championship". ESPN needs to remove it's head from SEC *** and try to become relevant again.

Once again we prove that they will let anyone talk on the radio. Besides Mike and Mike the rest of them suck!

#1 is Miller and Deace on KXNO
#2 is Mike and Mike.
#3 is Jim Rome -----------Just kidding.
It is Dan Pattick

The rest suck

I don't mind Scott VanPelt, either. And Ryan Kuselias (sp?) is pretty good when he fills in for SVP. But Rome and Cowherd are just God-awful.

How did OSU fare the last time they went West? Any time you go on the road it's dicey. OSU doesn't go on the road in the non-con, so it's understandable that it might be a foreign concept to you.

Reality of it is that both Iowa and OSU would take a home vs Miami for a roadie vs Az and you very well know it. Az will quite likely be a better team than Miami this season and even if thy are not, the trip out west for a late kick off in 90 degree weather more than tips the scale.
