ESPN just ran a half-time segment focused on how good Iowa is

It was good to see last night. They put up the correct logo for the school in the background. They didn't call us the Iowa State Hawkeyes. This squad is making everyone pay attention and it feels good.

long way to go... lets just keep winning conference games first.

AMEN to that. Few were harder on the Hawks then I was as we were losing those games in which we came SO close. But I haven't let myself forget that the problems which led to those losses are the types of things which may come back and bite us from time to time, especially if we let them - things like missing key free throws and going through those five-minute stretches where nothing goes right on either end of the floor.

Yes, it is a long season ahead of us, and we still have a NASTY B1G schedule to get through. But indeed, it is so nice to hear this. Now I'd like to see and hear it deep into March (and not via the N.I.T.).

Winning on CBS with uptempo exciting bball should open up the eyes of a lot of recruits. You can play at Iowa in the best league in the land, play fast break ball, press some, play mulitple defenses, have a great coach who was a top flight point guard himself in a tough 5 city league.

I watched Big Five games when I lived in Philly, was born there. It was a tough league for certain. When I moved back to Philly after graduating from Dowling, I went to a Ray Charles concert at the Palestra, where the Big Five played. About halfway through the concert, I noticed that I was the only white person there. The police were black. I didn't even notice, and nobody said anything to me. Must have thought that anybody who loves Ray that much must be alright.....

Philly is a very tough town.....

Might be able to fastforward to halftime on the ESPN3 archive of the game.

I dont think ESPN3 shows halftime footage. I know they dont show commercials but I dont think halftime footage from the studio is shown either.
