ESPN just ran a half-time segment focused on how good Iowa is

It ended with one analyst calling Iowa a final four caliber team because they are deep, talented, and can score.

The whole time I was watching it I thought I was watching btn. I about **** myself when I remembered it was ESPN.

Amazing what ONE quality road win does for the perception of a team, eh? We all knew that this was a really good team. Now others are taking notice.

Winning on CBS with uptempo exciting bball should open up the eyes of a lot of recruits. You can play at Iowa in the best league in the land, play fast break ball, press some, play mulitple defenses, have a great coach who was a top flight point guard himself in a tough 5 city league.

"Plus young man, you come play with us and you're going to get some playing time"

It was Seth Greenberg who made that statement. Jay Williams, was not so sure, but he does feel the same way about Wisconsin.

I got the impression two of the three announcers liked Iowa (with one picking the Hawks as a final four team). I also thought the analysis went a little deeper than normal "talking head" analysis usually does. They showcased highlight clips from Marble, White, and Mikey G.

It was a neat surprise; and since I was getting the mini me ready for bed, I was once again thankful to be able to pause live tv.

So we're relevant...in basketball. This is weird. I never, ever thought when Lick left that we would where we are in just 4 years. I was wondering if we'd ever make the tournament again and this team has the potential to be the best Iowa team I've ever seen (I'm young)

How can we be a final four team when we aren't even making the tourney. These jokers need to read a few of tednugentfans post to get a clue.

As long as the players don't get puffy chests and drop the next game to a middling Goof team.
That would let all the air right back out of the balloon.

Helps when all the big name teams are racking up some losses... they got to find somebody to talk about. That's a good thing when it's us... Like BigTenChamp says... long road ahead.

Regardless of how good this Iowa team is, and whether they can realistically make the Final Four or not, this is all GREAT publicity for the program, which can only help recruiting. I'm loving it!
