with kirk's fondness for coach belichek (spelling?) i'm surprised we haven't dabbled in more spread formations. not that we'd ever go to that as our bread and butter, but how it can be just as effective in opening up the inside running game as it is for getting mismatches with receivers on LB's.
that's how athletes like woodhead and welker are even able to compete in the NFL and how they do soooo well, i really doubt they'd see much of the field in the 70's and 80's style of football.
anyway, long tangent to say - good article, and i'm really impressed with this group.
