Eric May has been an excellent team mate and a loyal Hawkeye. If he were healthy (which he isn't) we would be a better team than we are right now. If healthy, he will get his share of minutes next year. He is our only Senior next year.
Wow, talk about a well-thought out and reasoned rebuttal. Please show what in my post is not true.
I'm guessing he thought such utter ******** wasn't worth his time. If you truly believe what you wrote then you are...
1) Incredibly stupid
2) An enormous *******
This post has ZERO accuracy. ZERO. If what you wrote was true,he would not have played at Wahlert,a state title team. You have gone overboard to try to make a point,I guess.
He can dribble. I have seen him do it.
He can shoot. His shooting percentage is respectable.
His decision-making is average.
His defense is good when healthy.
His rebounding is average for a 6'4'' inch player.
Nobody claims he is all-league or a star. He has been hurt for much of the last two seasons. Just like when Matt Gatens hurt his thumb last year, and was struggling with his shooting, injuries have huge impact on players at this high level of college ball. He is not a superstar who can get by at less than 90%.
Next year,if he is healthy,he will contribute on the floor...just watch.
And like those who condemned Gatens in the past with much of the same language, crow will be served.
I'll take that as a complement coming from arguably the biggest d-bag on here. I'm sorry the truth doesn't sit well with you.
I could also argue your mom's a whore, but that wouldn't make it true.
Or would it...
Couldn't agree more, Duff.....I don't understand the desire to throw a hometown kid who’s clearly struggling through an injury and played a whopping 3 min under the bus. By all accounts he’s gone out and worked hard and given the team everything he can. He is what he is.
Some of you people are incredibly stupid.
This couldn't be further from the truth. May has absolutely ZERO basketball talent. Zero. He is an athlete, but a far cry from talented basketball player. He can't dribble, can't shoot, poor decision maker, and only and avg defender and rebounder. There is no talent there; it's called athleticism. Said athleticism will make you look talented when your competition is Iowa high school bball. However, you're exposed, as May was, when you start playing talented, athletic kids.
Hey, Atomic, you driving to Lincoln for the game......
You can't play basketball with a bad back. Eric should take a year off and see if he can get himself right physically. He doesn't want to end up addicted to pain pills when he is done. The year would give him time to see if he can get right physically, graduate and make plans for his future, possibly including graduate school.
I agree, he could benefit from a medical redshirt. His top priority should be to take care of himself along with getting a degree. If basketball is a possibility again then he will be that much better playing his senior year in 2013.
Please explain the medical redshirt. He does have a redshirt year available. Are you saying he should sit out two years?
Is that even possible? Honestly I do not know how a medical redshirt works. But a back injury can take a long time to heal, especially if surgery is involved. I was agreeing with Caar on him taking a year off.
