Eric May will sleep well tonight.

OK. I've had a chance to watch the first 5 minutes of the game so far and this is what May has accomplished:

He starts off by missing a baseline jumper. He lets Hummel get a board and put back. He lets Hummel dribble past him and get a layup. He misses an easy pass to the post. He misses a wide open look from the top of the key. I'm sure he is going to get better as the game goes on. I should have a few minutes later tonight to watch this impressive display.

It seemed that the ball rolled Purdue's way most of the game, Hummel and Byrd looked good. I was thinking this was their best chance to win as the front part of Big10 play looks though. You have to be glad they kept it close all game, hopefully these kids can see that they can play with the top of the conference.
Purdue had the advantage of getting the bounce last night. In the second half we would play good D only to have them throw the ball toward the rim, where it would bounce around and then drop at the last second.....

How did the rest of the team, other than Basabe, do the first five minutes.....

Gatens looked pedestrian on D and tried to dribble penetrate once but only moved laterally across the free throw line before giving it up. Marble and Basabe played very well. McCabe was non-existent. PU was up 7-5
