Enough of the Fire KF posts...

It's time to put blame squarely where it lies....with the head of the athletics department. His a$$inine agreement to the worst buyout clause in the history of sports should be enough by itself to get him fired!

But couple that with his oversight of the decline into absolute irrelevance of our entire athletic department and that should be enough to ensure that he never holds another position of leadership in any athletic department in the country....to include all high school programs as well. But in IC, I'm sure that kind of track record will lead to an extension and raise.

I shudder to think of what Kinnick will look like next year with the worst home schedule in program history coming on the heels of this projectile vomit of a season. I thought 2010 sucked....this feels 10x worse because it's absolutely apparent that there's no making it better with the current leadership group in place.

The fans that make this athletic department a top 10 revenue generating department deserve better....it's too bad we won't get it!

The actual problem is the college president. Like most academics, she's ashamed that her school even HAS a football program. If Iowa supporters were worth listening to, they'd put 60K butts in seats for ballet performances and sociologist lectures. So if she's stuck with having a team because of the money, she's going to keep them as mediocre as possible to keep bringing in the money without improving it. So she's not going to buy out Barta or Ferentz. Simple as that.

If you want to make a change, stop going to home and bowl games. It's simple.

Looks like we need to make some more room then.

You're gonna need a bigger board.

If you want to make a lot of money to be average at your job, apply for a high level position at Iowa? There is no accountability there and if do you get canned, you'll get a nice buyout.

Just ask Lickliter.

Here's the thing -- there's more to being an AD than just heading up your athletic programs. You also raise money. By nearly all accounts, Barta is pretty damned good doing that. So I suspect he's not going anywhere.

He doesn't have a good track record in hiring coaches. He totally screwed up the softball situation, made a bad hire for volleyball in the past, and made the horrific Lickliter hire. How many sports total have been competing for Big Ten titles as well?

If you ask me he's not good at the most important part of his job which is hiring coaches. Michigan's AD could raise money as well and he's out on his azz just like Barta should be. Yes he's raised money but Iowa isn't even a factor in The Director's Cup.

A mid major AD at a power 5 program and it has showed. Look how competitive Iowa has played mid majors since he's been here.

Our fans have been giving boatloads of money before he got here and they'll continue to give boatloads after he's gone. But he's far and away the worst AD we've had in my lifetime...

This is really at a point where a person simply can't find or make any more excuses about the state of Iowa football ...

Iowa sports top to bottom are average at best. Why?

It isn't because of facilities or fan support, so what is it?

Correct answer. We need her to retire, the sooner the better.
