Enemy Recon: Iowa State

at least you're FINALLY referring to ISU as "the enemy"............kudos for seeing the light. now let the hate flow :)

If the Hawks running backs and o-line are healthy I don't see any reason why they shouldn't run over the Cyclone front 7. I think the elusiveness of Canzeri and the power of Weisman should give them headaches. Whoever the QB is should have some opportunities over the top because the only chance ISU has at stopping the run game is crowding the box. If we can complete a couple big passes then I think Iowa wins comfortably. If not it's gonna be another close one.

They suffered huge losses at LB and their defensive line has been paper thin for years now. Use Weisman to get them on their heels, and insert Canzeri to crack open some big plays. I don't see anyone at defensive line on their roster who is capable changing the status quo.

That's kind of the way I look at it. Go ahead and forward the game plan to KF.

The oline should be really gelling by then too since it will be the third game.
It will be nice as well that it will be the third game for the starting QB as well even though it will be his first on the road at least he will be a little more comfortable. On the flip side, I don't see the defense giving up many points to them.

I'm convinced that Wally Burnham will be the wild card in this game. He'll out coach G. Davis in this game. That's a given. However, I don't think that will be enough as his defense will be at a big talent mismatch vs Iowa's O-line and running backs.

Can't argue with a lot of this. If Coe and Scott can cause issues for the D-line, we'll be okay.

ISU's best chance at beating Iowa will be long drives even if they end in punts at times. Iowa's running game will be tough to stop.

I wouldn't count on Coe who has only played one year at the defensive line position at the JUCO level to be ready his first year at ISU.

What makes you think KF will be willing to go against ****** and throw over the top, take some chances, and go for the jugular???? I hope you are right but ISU has been crowding the LOS since back when Fry was coach. Fry would eat them alive but KF cant seem to take advantage of ISU's junk defenses.

Last year was a perfect example when KDavis caught that pass at the three yard line and then GD and KF promptly ran three vanilla running plays right into the teeth of the ISU defense. DUHHH!!!!

I really think the hawks should win this game by two scores but the regular KF could keep it close. A new KF and GD might make ISU pay.

I really really hope Coe starts and lines up across from our LT. That will be fun to watch. He will be able to provide a complete weather report by the end of the game as he will spend most of it on his back.

I think we have a sizable advantage on offense...and as soon as Freed is done sucking Wally Burnham's pennis, he will be less interested in outcoaching Greg Davis, he will most likely just want a burrito and a nap.

The game is in Ames so knowing how the cyclones seem to always play over their heads against us I will be happy with a one point win.

Yet will still be better than what we have at this point. I'll take 6'-7" raw talent at this point.

4 straight years of 3-6 is described as "slow and steady? Isn't "stagnant" a better term?

Didnt you see the chats though? I mean going from 5 wins, 6 wins and 6 wins is 2 consecutive years of improvement to ISU fans.....because somehow last years 6 wins were better then 2011 6 wins????
