Think we are out of the running now. We don't stand a chance. Plus Washpun picked up Tennessee offer too. OUCH!

We are viewed nothing more than a low-major program to these kids anymore. Butler, UNI, Creighton, VCU, Dayton, Belmont, etc. are all better programs to play for than Iowa. Sad reality and it is very frustrating. How do we get better if all we get are role players and fall backs?

Ban idiots like you from constantly being negative.

It's not being negative. It's called being frustrated and concerned. If you aren't concerned about the constant lost recruiting battles then you have accepted Iowa where they are. You should be upset that schools like Western Kentucky are better options than a Big Ten team, Iowa, is spit on. It's embarrassing as a fan that Iowa is viewed this way.

he's an idiot cause he has an opinion? no one can have an opinion anymore at all! I think he's right that we're no longer looked at as a top tier program, but there's still time left to recruit, and that's what needs to be done

Read his 15 other posts in other threads that say essentially the same thing...Ryno is over the top and he knows it

We arent top tier but now is not the time to panic with Fran. Basabe and Cartwright are proof he has an eye for talent

Things are going to be ok

I wouldn't ban him for being negative, it's the unbridled stupidity that gets to me.

Some schools contacted Eli Carter, Ryno's proper response...

OH NOES Evry 1, WUT We gOnnA do NOW?!?!?!

I mean really, would we rather have Fran going after kids with no competition?

Oklahoma - yawn
Rutgers- yawn
Tenn - new coach yawn
and about 10 others...seriously? The vultures just smell opportunity. Iowa is still his best offer.

Lets be honest here. The kid is a 3+* kid that is still unsigned. If a team is in need of a quality PG or even SG then they are going to make an effort to sign this kid.

Basabe and Cartwright are good but Basabe came because a new coach was hired and Cartwright came last minute in May. That doesn't work every year. If we have to count on picking up a recruit in May every season and hope he turns out like Cartwright I'm not sure that is a good thing.

Basabe came because Fran recruited him to Sienna. The fact that he brought Basabe and signed Cartwright late shows that him and his staff have an eye for talent. It isnt May yet....chill out and see how it plays out

I know why you are in a panic, you must have flipped your calendar too soon. It's April 8th and Iowa is hosting Kantenda this weekend.

If Katenda commits that will definitely help. Will show that higher regarded recruits want to jump aboard and help bring in some more players.

Honestly what the problem is, is that we have sucked with recruiting for so long that until someone proves they can change that mentality we will continue to expect this and will continue to complain about it. And this class isn't going to change that perspective...YET! It's basically apathy.

You're kidding right?

Oglesby and White are both 3 star players. One is a SG with skills and the other is a SF with skills.

We have a PG on the roster that is going to be somewhere between HM and 1st team ALL BIG TEN.
We have a PF that was ALL FROSH.
We have a SG (Gatens) that can score but needs help. We are missing maybe one or two pieces right now.
We have two Cs that can play albeit one likes to foul a lot and the other likes to, well I don't know what he likes to do but he looks great at times and looks lost at others.
We need a slashing, scoring wing to move to mid-pack Big10. I think we will get one. Fran isn't looking short term though which I like. Long term we need to improve at every position in order to contend for titles.

We will get those kids but year 2 isn't a very likely scenario.

WW was an after thought. He either improved greatly over the past 2 months or we thought the kid might walk-on. Neither you and I know if the latter is true or not but it wouldn't surprise me that it was part of the thought process for Fran and staff.

Losing out on Cesar hurt but its not the end of the world.

I called it months ago that Cully would be the player to transfer IF we were going to have any. He was a me first player and wants minutes. I think its punk that he waited this long to bail and hope he ends up in Eastern North Woods of the Southern Bell of Illinois.

Rant over.
