Kind of surprised Chuck Long's 10-25-1987 game against Green Bay isn't on there. 33/47, 362, 3 TDs and 0 picks. I think that was the best game by an Iowa QB bince the start of the Hayden/Kirk era.

Nah, CJ got some games. I think Dan McGwire did as well. "If he can throw touchdowns like his brother hits home runs, no one will be able to beat Iowa." I think Vlasic just got mop up duty, not sure if he ever started.

Now he was never going to be Joe Montana, but who knows he could have been the benchmark for all future Hawkeye qb's in the league.

Despite this, Vlasic remained optimistic, saying, "I feel confident in my ability, and I always have. I know I can get the job done whatever the situation. I have to believe that."[28]
After replacing DeBerg in the second half with the Chiefs down by 14 points, Vlasic completed 12 of 18 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown as the Chiefs beat the Chargers in overtime, 20–17, and giving the Chiefs a playoff berth in the process.[33] As a result of this performance, Vlasic was given the start for next week's game against the San Francisco 49ers. However, he sprained his knee in the second quarter, and did not play the final regular season game.[34]

Don was traded when Lance showed up and quit. He did not want to be traded. Lance had the nickname of Bambi because he was so graceful and smooth.
