Drake game

There are a lot of bitter ISU and UNI fans out there but not as many as you think. Those people tend to hang out on message boards. I know several ISU grads personally that cheer for Iowa when they aren't playing ISU. Last year I sat near a group of younger ISU fans who were cheering for UNI but as a whole, the crowd was heavily in Iowa's favor.

Uh, what!? That's the first I've ever heard or something like that... somebody not letting their little brother syndrome get the best of them? Weird.

My brother, an ISU grad that used to back the Hawkeyes, vehemently opposes Iowa in any game they play. His rationale is that Iowa can not do well, because ISU needs to, and according to him, eventually will, overtake Iowa as the premier program in the state. He's funny.

ISU fans would be smart to cheer for Iowa because they play Iowa this year and do not play Drake. If Iowa wins ISU will have a chance to get a win against a ranked opponent at home. By the same reasoning, Iowa fans should cheer for ISU and UNI fans should cheer for Drake.

This seems to be logical. I hate isu, but want them to win every game except when they play the hawks. It just makes our win against them that much sweeter and more relevant.

Same theory as why i root for all B1G teams when they play non-can games, no matter how much i despise them.

Just win baby. RPI is not going to play a factor this year like it did last year.

I agree with the rpi not being a factor concerning the Hawks getting into the NCAA tourney field this year, the schedule has a deffinate upgrade as it relates to the quality of our opponents. Just checked Drakes RPI updated yesturday 12/6 it is currently #29 & our Hawks sit at #44. Drake would deffinatly be a quality win.

I see this is on "BTN2GO".....is that a streaming-only serivce?

I have Mediacom in the Quad Cities area...thanks

I am sure Fran will have a brief visit with the team about their defensive performance against ND.

Do you really believe this? I know Drake is in Des Moines but come on.

The fact that we're even playing this event in Des Moines still irks a lot of UNI fans who believe we should be forced to visit their little bandbox every other year. I think they will be rooting against Iowa as well as the ISU and Drake fans.

There isn't too many "true" UNI fans. Most of them are also ISU or Iowa fans, along with being UNI fans.

Iowa should be able to score almost at will inside...even if the entire arena is against us. I will be surprised if this one is close. I'll say Iowa wins 84-67.

I've never had anything but trouble with BTN2GO. I'm hoping someone will post an alternate stream for my viewing pleasure.

Really know nothing about Drake. Don't want to know anything about Drake. Except how long it takes them to cry UNCLE!

I can't remember the last time Iowa was able to score almost at will against UNI, Drake or Iowa State.

I generally agree with this. If we dominate inside like we should be able to vs Drake, enabling us to hedge our D to the outside and guard there like we can, 84-67 sounds like a reasonable score for us in this game.

My hope is that next year you can say "I remember last year how Iowa was able to score almost at will against Drake." I think ISU will also win by double figures...hoping that 1st loss occurs on Friday the 13th.
