Doyel rips Big Ten officials/Iowa

Iowa received its fair share of calls and breaks today. Not all of them were gifts, just very timely

"""If you're a Top 25 voter and you don't vote Iowa down -- as in, worse than last week -- after this game, then you didn't watch the game. Or you didn't know what you were watching."""

OK...now that's crossing a line...but that is what Doyel does. Do not post on his site. Do not feed the animals.

But really, its not going to matter. Iowa has to win out, and they need Texas to lose, if they are going to play for it all.

I actually think the reason they overturned the second touchdown was because after the receiver hit the ground he did not have complete control of the ball. I think he was in, but after he hit the ground he lost control of the ball a little bit. If you look at the replay of it, you can see the ball slip down his hands.

Just my two cents...

He's just a bandwagoner since SEC officiating has taken a hit.

Besides, the booth was more questionable than the field refs. They did ok other than missing a few tackles of the IU OL on Iowa's DL.

Perhaps, but he has made a name for himself by making statements of absolutes and being controversial.

Seems to me like that's more of a voting conspiracy.

Since when has watching the games been a requirement of voting?

I agree. I think KF said it best when he noted that "if we lose, we drop fast...and if we win, they put us where they want, anyway."

We must win. That is all. Let's get the Mildcats.

Which seems to be HOW you get noticed in the media period. So lets all stop worrying about mr. dork.....I mean mr. doyel and enjoy all of this. He doesn't even believe what he writes. If all he can muster is one paragraph....he doesn't feel he can intellegently defend his position. He probably didn't even play football as a kid, so lets all put his opinions in file 13 where they belong!!

It's not, which is why Iowa probly goes up in the human polls and drops in computers this week

I am thinking Iowa actually drops this week. the human factor votes them lower, and teh compter rankins probably are not going to keep them number one. so i think all this bcs talk is way to premature. lets us focus on the winning the BIg ten, by going undefeated, and let the chips fall where they fall.

This is what ESPN (Kirk Herbstreit) just said - "Get Iowa out of the top 5" and then stated this is what the BCS should be tomorrow

1. Florida
2. Texas
3. Alabama
4. Oregon
5. TCU
6. BSU
7. Cincy
8. LSU
9. IOWA
10. Georgia Tech

Personally, I see us dropping in the polls again. Maybe one or two spots at most and that will effect our BCS standing but this is just ridiculous!

I was actually thinking that afterwards while listening to the postgame show...by scoring 40+ and covering the spread, there is a good chance that the folks who don't watch the games will actually move Iowa up tomorrow.

However, I can't see them dropping in any of the computer polls, or from their current place in the BCS standings.
