I heard on 1600 kgym that Dolph said something during the game broadcast that could be construed as racially insensitive? anyone know what gives?

I read something about that too, but I was unaware of what the word was or what it meant. To me, it was insignificant enough that I don't even remember what it was.

Gary Dolphin has been deemed "The Voice of the Hawkeyes" by the University of Iowa. During Saturday's game against Michigan., Dolphin referred to Michigan running back Fitz Toussaint as a "jiggaboo". As you'll hear, Dolphin knew he said something he shouldn't have judging by his quick attempt to correct himself. When I heard it, I really didn't know what it meant, but I knew it didn't sound good.

I've seen this on different sites, I think this is what you're talking about.

He calls Eddy P. "Buddy boy" all the time and "boy" can be considered a racist term...maybe Eddy took offense after all of these years!?!? I kid, but I don't see Dolph dropping ethnic or racist slurs on people so I'm totally at a loss on what this could be over.

Edit: Alrighty then...nevermind...but he didn't call him a jiggaboo, I think he really was trying to say one thing and something else flew out of his mouth.

I can't imagine it was intended to be offensive especially coming from one of the nicest guys around. Sometimes you have older adults that use terms that are not PC today that were accepted by society when they were younger.

Perfect time to bring corso to the table. Love corso and thought this was one of the funniest things i've seen/heard in a while. I DO believe we should have an individual thread for this. Just so good. enjoy

Folks--Dolph made a mistake of the tongue, not a mistake of the heart. Not a big deal.

People need to learn to not take offense when no offense is intended.

This!!! I heard it live and thought to myself... did I really just hear that? Simple misspeak.... no evil intent, and if you listen to it in context you would understand that. It is somewhat refreshing I think, to hear some of the younger people on here, say they didn't know what the word meant, so I would hope we as a society are progressing away from these hurtful words.

Does anyone have a recording from several years ago where he said of the punter: (he) "jacks off a beauty!"?

That was gold.
