I can't imagine it was intended to be offensive especially coming from one of the nicest guys around. Sometimes you have older adults that use terms that are not PC today that were accepted by society when they were younger.

I honestly in my heart of hearts don't think Dolph is racist or meant any harm, but I think ^this^ is the wrong argument in support of Dolph in this case. Sort of implies this is what Dolph calls black people all the time because he thinks it's ok in his day to day personal life, but it just slipped out once on the radio.

Besides, it's not like Dolph is THAT old...and how many years has is been acceptable to call black people by ANY derogatory name?!? That's why that argument "oh, he/she is just old, that's what they used to call them" has NEVER held any water for me. I don't care how old you are, you've literally had DECADES to unlearn whatever names you thought were "ok" to apply to other races.

To reinforce though - this post is not meant to attack Dolph in any way (I think he had a simple brain fart, the wrong synapse fired and a really unfortunate word stored deep in his lexicon leaped from his mouth...I bet he would take it back 1000 times over)...I simply am stating I think smoot's argument in support is headed in the exact wrong direction and makes Dolph sound worse.

I have the wonderful opportunity at this time to work with lot's of twenty somethings... shheesh at times it's scary and a lot of "politically incorrect" language. At the same time alot of really good young people.
